he got arrested for the junk in OP. they chose not to prosecute but violated him on the terms of his probation on the 2015 charge. so, he got shipped off to Slidell or wherever the hell St. Tammany Parish is.
How the hell do ya'll know so much about his legal situation? I'm glad most of my friends don't have loose lips and/or post on TD..

He probably wrote it all himself on a thread in this forum.

Possibly. I was figuring that he's been incarcerated since his arrest so he couldn't have posted about it but I guess that's not necessarily the case.

Yea...SS is actually a cool as frick guy, just apparantly is really bad at getting away with shite that tons of other people wouldn't bat an eye at. The issue is that typically people stop when they have the consequences appear, addicts just keep digging (and that's not judgemental as im in recovery myself, just a fact unfortunately)
Not sure why OP would be able to violate him if his probation is in StT, especially if they didn't charge him. Sucks to hear

Why does everyone assume that people that think frats are silly or trashy wanted to be in one or couldn't have gotten in one?
Because the reason you find them silly or trashy is because you wanted so badly to be in one but you didn't get a bid... It's not rocket surgery.

Some new information in the last article:
A 25-year-old Baton Rouge man accused of fatally beating a 60-year-old New Orleans man earlier this month has bonded out of jail.
Garrett Ward was released from New Orleans' jail on a $250,000 surety bond late Wednesday night, about 16 hours after he surrendered to authorities on a second-degree murder warrant in connection with the death of Arnold "Red" Jackson.
In documents that cite several eyewitnesses, New Orleans police allege that a visibly drunk and agitated Ward punched and kicked Jackson after 1 a.m. on Jan. 6 in the 2000 block of St. Charles Avenue for "no apparent reason."
Officers arrested Ward on an elevated parking lot next to Copeland's Cheesecake Bistro. He was initially booked on a count of battery while paramedics took Jackson to a hospital for treatment.
The first responders found Jackson with a disfigured jaw and blood coming from his mouth as he moaned for help, according to court records. Those records said Jackson, by all indications, had been "casually walking down the street" when he was accosted.
The suspect posted $10,000 bond for his release from jail. But investigators obtained a new warrant accusing him of murder after Jackson died Jan. 18 from the injuries he suffered during the beating, according to authorities.
Jackson's ex-wife and one of his daughters said the family had reason to believe Jackson was trying to prevent a woman from being beaten when Ward attacked him. Jackson's family cited conversations his daughter, Kenyada Schnyder, had with employees of businesses on the block who witnessed the attack.
Police on Wednesday declined to comment on the family's version of events.
Jackson lived at Central City's Guste high-rise apartment building, about a mile from the scene of the beating. His survivors include two daughters and a son.
Ward was working as a commercial real estate agent for NAI Latter & Blum at the time of his arrest. His biography on the firm's website was deactivated after police on Tuesday announced that Ward was wanted in Jackson's slaying.
Ward's bail was set at a Wednesday afternoon hearing during which officials mentioned that he had no prior criminal record. An attorney representing him at the proceeding, Lindsey Williams, declined comment afterward.
If Ward is eventually convicted of murder, he would face mandatory life imprisonment.

It is actually possible that no one is lying. Depending on a witnesses vantage point and their interpretation of what they saw you can get wildly different accounts from witnesses.
Probably the worst scenario for Ward is if they were both just walking down the street and he just snapped and beat Jackson to death without any interaction. A person that does that is the kind of person the State should and will want off the street for a very long time.

Can the public attend the trial? How does that work?

In general criminal trials are public and anyone can sit in the gallery as long as there are seats available. Trials with high public interest can often be full especially if a significant portion of the court is set aside for the press.
That said unless there is something significantly different about the facts than has been reported, this won't be tried. The possibility of life without parole is significantly motivating for a defendant.

So what I’ve gathered from this thread is that we have a good-looking dude in the prime of his life, smashing top-tier tail, and he throws it all away due to drunken dumbassery.
You know that he and his family are still holding out hope that somehow, this will all just blow over and that he’ll be able to be on house arrest without serving any time. Not happening.
And those of you who think a blue-eyed pretty boy like that is gonna go to any prison and not get raped, you’re seriously naive. He’ll be a walking bullseye from Day One.
