It's really sad he passed. I watched a recent video of the child wide-eyed and looking around.
I mean really.. if you don't like the care your child is receiving, regardless of reasoning.. you should freely be allowed to seek care elsewhere.. It shouldn't be about people's opinions on the situation or whether or not they value the quality of life.. but that's just my feelings.
This is enough to know I would never want this type of control in the US.

Universal health care sounds like a great idea doesn’t it?!?

Alder Hey Hospital and the U.K. government starved him to death. Pure evil.

What in the world could make someone shift blame to these parents and say they are causing pain on others? I don't understand some of these whacko's thought process.

I think what bothers me the most about this story is that a hospital in the UK can basically stop parents from getting a second opinion.
Not saying this is what happened here...but I can easily imagine a situation where a child comes to hospital sick, hospital misdiagnoses and/or commits medical malpractice, as a result child now terminal, hospital fights to end child’s life and keep it from getting treatment elsewhere to prevent anyone from figuring out what really happened. It’s the entire freaking reason people are encouraged to get second opinions. Doctors and hospitals are often wrong.

I watched Braveheart and The Patriot this week on AMC. After reading this, I may very well hate the British even more than Mel Gibson now.
Sad, especially from the judge and the police. How do their citizens respect their police force after they enforced something so heinous? Just sad.

Alfie Evans didn't meet his two month growth expectations
An examination of him in late 2016 showed brain abnormalities.
After that he suffered seizures at home and was taken to hospital.
the link shows what he and his parents went through in his 23 month long life.

only thing I can add to this is something I’ve already said, stories like these show you the dangers of not standing up against attacks on personal freedoms and liberties

If a vet in BFE Alabama decided that a dog must die and another vet in BFE Mississippi offered to take the dog, and the Alabama vet refused to turn the dog over...
1. There would be a gofundme for the dog right around $50k in 24 hrs
2. Alabama vet would probably be burned to the ground
3. Alabama vet would lose all their customers and maybe their license.
What am I missing?

This shite wouldn't have happened here. I would have gotten the rest of like minded friends of mine together and got that family out the hospital onto the helicopter. Police would just have to shoot me.

Seriously. I mean, I know there were armed police outside the room but if he picked his son up and tried to walk out are they going to tackle him with a baby in his arms?
I was thinking about this earlier and I would have gone out to that waiting helicopter and asked the Italians "I know you can't come in and help me, but if I can get my son out here myself will you still take him?"
If they said yes I would have at least had to try and make a break for it, even if it seemed futile.

I would've hired some country boys or mercenaries and gotten that baby on the helicopter. My whole opinion of Brits has changed through this. I can't believe they stood by while that baby died. Yeah, there were protests, but holding a sign and chanting didn't change a damn thing. I feel like here, one way or another, that baby would've made it to the helicopter. I always kind of roll my eyes at older people who mention how sick the world is and how we need to turn to God more than ever. But, damn if I don't feel like that today. Humanity is dying.

Calm down people. I like how you all think you are medical experts. Or have you just been listening to Fox News and Nigel Farage again?
And when you put your outdated gun rights before 6 year old kids being blown to bits you can’t exactly start taking the moral high ground. Sort out your own country’s problems.

I don't have any kids of my own, just a niece and my best friends kids who are like nieces, and even for them I can't imagine not at least trying everything I could, even if its desperate. They would have to lock me up to stop.
And if by some miracle I succeeded in getting that baby out of that hospital and to Italy and I became a fugitive in my country and could never return home, that would be 100% worth it.

frick Britain. They gave their souls, their tradition and their culture to Islamism and ultra liberalism. They don't exist anymore as a western country. In 20 more years you won't be able to tell the difference between England and Afghanistan. They will get what they deserve.

You couldn’t identify what freedom or personal liberty was if it slapped you right in the face. And you an sure couldn’t have been bothered to read this thread because most people recognized that Alfie’s prognosis was dismal.
I take it you are a Brit. If so, you have my condolences on the ever increasing authoritarian nature of your government.
