Those guys exert an enormous amount of pressure. The responsibility for safety ultimately falls in the captain or OIM, but frick man some of those dudes need their egos checked.

Little update/change in Seacor search as divers struggle to get in water due to day's rains
Divers will hit the water throughout the night near the capsized Seacor Power in hopes of finding the 9 missing men who were aboard the vessel.
The United States Coast Guard did not issue a public update on the search today, in part because of poor weather, which limited divers' ability to get on the water for much of the day.
With most of the weather now moving out of the area, divers are expected to resume their work tonight and will work around the clock to try and find the missing men.
To date, 4 have been confirmed dead, 6 have been confirmed rescued and 9 are still reported missing from the 19-man crew, which saw their vessel capsize in Tuesday's bad weather.
As of yesterday, the Coast Guard said the rescue efforts were still a Recovery Mission, and the Coast Guard had not ruled out the possibility of finding someone alive.
But a source close to the search told The Gazette this afternoon that while those efforts will continue, it was "demoralizing yesterday" when 2 bodies were found inside the engine room of the vessel. Searchers had hope that there would be crew members alive in yesterday's pass by divers.
Work to scan the Gulf has expanded beyond the vessel outward for many miles. One of the bodies found late on Thursday was more than 30 miles away from the vessel. That large radius complicates the search on the water, especially given the high seas we've had for the past several days.
The men found in the engine room yesterday were identified today as Anthony Hartford, 53, and James Wallingsford, 55. The men are from New Orleans and Gilbert, respectively.

Dylan’s brother posted on his fb that talos hasn’t said a word to them or shown their faces. His dad was going to hire his own divers and was told they’d be arrested.
I know most of us don’t understand this stuff but damnit — someone has to do something.
It sounds like families are getting pissed and running out of patience — if it were me I’d be in a Xanax coma.

Especially if Talos had a well or wells shut in. These companies on the shelf will push third party companies to overlook safety when wells are shut in & after the last year's dramatic downturn, most third party companies will bow down in order to keep their customers happy.

Yea especially when they’re also paying for a coil unit at the time. Every hour that ticks by you’re burning through cash. The pressure obviously mounted unfortunately. Such a sad situation and a good reminder

Prime example is the Shrimp boat!! No one made him sail into it !! It caught him off guard and he cried like a lil baby to his dad!! As bad as it’s sucks I don’t think there is anyone To place upon although that’s all anyone is going to want to do at this point ...

Poor form and amateurish for Talos Corporate to try and preemptively litigate their case in the press. Wiser to express only condolences and support for now. Talos gains nothing by releasing this statement.
This tragic accident will end up in Federal Court most likely Houston (depends on contract language) where Federal Judges show little sympathy for legal grandstanding.
May God Bless the men, families and friends of the Seacor Power.

I haven’t been working out in the gulf since 2015 but when I did I always lost service when we got outside of state waters

T-Mobile cut a deal with RigNet a year or so ago and AT&T cut a deal with RigNet and Tampnet back in October of last year. So on AT&T, I get full LTE coverage by any installation that uses RigNet or Tampnet for their communications which is basically every fixed deepwater installation
10 miles out is kind of the dead zone where you lose connection to the shore towers but you aren’t close enough to those deepwater installations yet

I just passed by the Power about an hour ago. The Seacor Brave is alongside I’m assuming supporting the dive operations

Winds were about 20 knots and the seas were maybe 3-5 feet. But the current was ripping east to west. Not sure what kind of conditions they need to dive.

That’s a gut punch. Engine room was mentioned early as being the most likely place people could survive in the capsized vessels given the orientation of the hull.
