bullshite. That is not how phone sales work—the legit seller would wipe the phone and you’d ensure whether it is locked to a carrier or not.
Whoever bought it knows it wasn’t a legitimate sale

At the very least, she has a lead on who originally possessed the phone. She has a description and contact information of some capacity.
Likely bought from someone with burner account and/or burner phone, but she knows more than the OP does at the moment.

Yeah the phone being sold to a 3rd party increases the likelihood this is drug-related and not violence-related.
If that phone was taken by force, they'd have wiped it and sold it at one of those kiosks in a Walmart.

The lady with the phone needs to be brought in for questioning by NOPD detectives. A warrant for the phone needs to be a priority.

NOPD isn't going to look for a missing person under the overpass.
Especially if the person isn't harming anyone or themselves and left on their own regard.
