Initially, I thought your thread was a troll. Then, you posted the above. Did you not know that the date for Mardi Gras IS about Easter?
Right. This cinched the naivety.

100% agree. Also, Christmas is way too close to New Years. It should be moved to September, so it isn't too close to Halloween or Thanksgiving and the weather is warmer.

Ahh yes. I can’t wait for the new Christmas songs “I’m dreaming of a sweaty balls Christmas” and all the people complaining about Christmas stuff being in stores right after the July 4th holiday.

I'm with you. I think they also should move Ash Wednesday to a Friday. That way, I'll have an excuse to leave work a little early and get a head start on the weekend.

I feel like your issue is with Punxsutawney Phil. He's the one who saw 6 more weeks of winter.

It's trashy no matter what time of year you have it.

Didn't realize Mardi Gras and your mom had something in common.

Probably the trashiest event of the year.....but I'll entertain other ideas

The trashiest screen name has to go to you. What kind of trailer trash puts ten numbers after their name.

Now this could be a down vote record post.

Not even close. I am proud to hold the record. I think it went over 3000 downvotes.

I think a user called Hammer had a thread go -10,000 or something. Something about fighting the entire OT IIRC.

Also, given how gorgeous today is, maybe March Mardi Gras aren't the worst.

Doesn't matter since you now know no one gets to select the date or I hope you know.

How about...

"A beautiful sight,
We're happy tonight,
Walking in an Autumn Wonderland"

Or

"I'm dreaming of a brown Christmas"

Your mom has way more numbers behind her screen name. She probably also caught "DatNolaClap." Speaking of trashy.....

surely you are aware that it is tied to the Lent calendar, like Ash Wednesday and Easter. They are what they are.

They need to just make Easter a fixed holiday. All this moving it around is just dumb

But yeah Mardi Gras should be in February

So you are going t somehow change the movement of the moon?

Mardi Gras is the day before Ash Wednesday.

Ash Wednesday is determined by counting back six weeks and then four days from Easter Sunday. Because Easter is based on the lunar calendar, Ash Wednesday's date changes each year.

The date of Easter is determined by calculating the first Sunday after the Paschal full moon, which occurs on or after the vernal equinox.

Public schools have failed again.
