I spent years working out of a tin trailer 30 feet from BOP. You all can thank me now for supplying you with petroleum products. That's real danger

And soldiers are just doing their jobs in war time. Sometimes just doing your job warrants special appreciation. This is one of those times.

You are on a louisiana message board where the virus has been much worse than what it is in Florida. I guess its easy to downplay what has happened here from your soapbox

As long as we can say the same for the:
Police
Teachers
Military

I'm all for it.

I couldn’t agree more. I do not want to be doing it, but I also chose against that field for very reasons like this. I am most appreciative and have no issue expressing that, but some of the entitled rants I read make me throw my hands up and wonder that didn’t they choose this profession?

A) I don't live in Florida.
B) my opinion of it is your job is regardless of situation. Though the situation changes, the job and bottom line to provide care doesn't.

I also agree with people expressing appreciating. The difference between someone offering appreciation and some demanding appreciation is drastically different.

You gotta be new to healthcare or had some recent awakening bc nurses have been volunteering to martyr themselves for a long time. They like to volunteer for the hard shite so they 1) get thanked and told how important they are 2) bitch about “always having to do” the shitty stuff(that they volunteered for. Just buy donuts on their bday and make a big deal of nurses week.

True... But don't isolate nurses. Physicians (several of my colleagues), RTs, etc all do it for the "look at me" spotlight.

Yeah bro GeauxTigers777 is a little bitch. He comes to the OT seeking attention from his post where he admonishes his colleagues for it and tells them to do their job.

If this guy isn't a troll, he's a bitch. Either way GeauxTigers, you need to fn log out.

I'm not angry but the blue lights of front porches, people banging pots and pans out in the street at 7pm, the FB, the TikToks, the new normal commercials sucking off the medical providers has reached critical mass and GeauxTiger777's OP triggered it.

I just can't take it anymore. They're telling me they're heroes when they're making cringe af TikTok videos.

I can't imagine if TikTok were around back in the day, people would be hating on vets too.

Thank You!!!! I’ve been saying this all along. Why do people in healthcare deserve all the recognition when hundreds of other essential jobs are working just as hard.

That being said God bless the healthcare industry

Look in the mirror dude, that is exactly what you just did.

Let the health care workers dance and sing and pat themselves on the back if they like. Whatever gets them through their 12-hour shifts and keeps them functional. If you are seeing much of it at all you are looking for it.

If you got into a profession to “get noticed” then you’re doing it wrong

Agree. Same should be said for police, fire and military unless you do something way outside the scope of your duties and of course, there are a ton of awards and recognition for such heroics. When you take any of these types of jobs you just assume the risks that comes with it. The risks are not unknown, they're an expectation of the job so no one should act surprised when danger arises through the course of your normal daily activities

I don’t see those frickers doing bedside care risking being infected by this shite....

I can give a shite about all the hero bullshite... And I really can’t stand those cringe worthy videos... I usually want to get through my shift, go the frick home, hang with the wife and kids and drink a beer...
