As someone that works in healthcare, this has reached an incredible level of self appreciation. This is literally what we all went to school for. The purpose of our work is to help people. The purpose of our work is to be there in the time of need. That's all this is. We don't deserve increase pay. We don't deserve forgiven student loans. These are the risks we accepted when we went into the field.

Put your head down, do your job.

Sorry for the rant. I'm just sick of the attention grabbing.

Curious if you work in one of the hard hit areas where the workers are going above and beyond

I’m just tired of the sign holding for pictures, tik toks, and the media sucking it for them.

wait, what? Nurses, who are predominately female and bat shite crazy attention whores, are breaking their arms patting themselves on the back?
Unbelievable.

so who is worse at self appreciation? Nurses or teachers?

How pissed will nurses be when teachers take back their Facebook glory?

Do you feel the same way about first responders after natural disasters or terrorist attacks? How about military vets?

I’m a paramedic and expect to be worshiped. I understand being above everybody causes jealousy and that is ok.

It's funny because all but one nurse I know personally hate the "hero" stuff.

I guarantee you when school resumes there will be some FB stuff about nurses having done their part and now teachers are doing theirs, accepting the daunting task of having to catch kids up on the 2 months of crucial schooling they missed

I agree

I do feel awful for the ones who really are in the ICU’s taking care of patients that are dying, those people can’t have family with them, I am sure it’s not easy to step back emotionally when you are the only person that person has

But every healthcare worker ever attention whoring is insane & it’s everyone who has ever worked in a Dr.’s office spewing their crap & talking down to people
