Universal truth on men fixing things?

1. Find something that’s broken
2. Play around with broken object
3. Discover that somehow, some way, you’ve fixed the broken object but have no clue how
4. Decide to never touch fixed object again out of terror of it breaking again

You forgot to mention randomly cursing at inanimate broken object while fixing it.

Fixing shite is very satisfying. My dishwasher needed a new vent fan, when I was changing it out, I broke the lever on the diaphragm. I used the old unit’s lever, thing is still working today..

You see, I don’t remember if I was cussing last night. I may have let out a “for fricks sake” when I realized it was broken.

Not a thing since YouTube.

1,2,3 are correct. Getting her to move out before 4 sets in is quite tricky

Or messing with something for hours and hours making zero progress. Say frick it. Go to bed, wake up fresh the next morning, fix it first try <30 mins.

My wife enjoys sending me Instas of guys cussing at their houses while fixing shite.
It’s funny bc it’s true

If it's got wheels or tits it's gonna give you problems.

This. Im blown away by what ive accomplished with patience, research, and YouTube while never being taught anything more than how to change a tire growing up. It aint perfect but it can be done w persistence. I certainly dont have the luck to accidently fix anything though lol.

I go with either Duct-tape or WD40

If it flies, floats or fricks, rent it. Don't buy it.

For me it's more like
Find broken thing
Determine how much broke thing is going to cost to fix
Spend a week researching cheaper ways to fix the thing
Come up with elaborate solution that is slightly cheaper than the correct resolution
Talk self out of elaborate solution
Fix it the correct way
Crack a beer and celebrate

I had a boss that would occasionally leave town for a few week and his instructions were, "Run it like it's yours. If you can't, then sell it and buy a peanut stand."

I've been a technician of one sort or another for over 30 years, so fiddling with shite until I figure it out is usually standard operating procedure. If I can't fix it myself, I'll just call someone who can.

One of the most annoying thing is the scissor jacks that co e with cars.
98% useless. Better have wheel blocks.
Nothing beats a small roll around floor jack. Much safer and only needs a truck mounted too box…..which I do not have.

I was cursing trying to fix my dryer and finally found a YouTube video with my exact problem. For some reason the guy in the video kept making a fart noise with his mouth at the end of every phrase. I kept having to rewind the video to see what he did and heard the guy making those f^cking fart sounds like a hundred times. I was already pissed but that put me over the top. The dryer works fine now but I have a few left over screws. I couldn’t wait to finish that job.
