If you don't have guns all of your rights are backed up by nothing except a "Just trust us bro" from the government.

20 years ago the cigarettes were so expensive in London that I bought mine from an asian guy selling them on the bridge by Big Ben. Anytime the guy saw a cop, he went underneath the bridge to hide.

This is a topical thread. Buddy is in Rome on vacation right now and sent over a few observations.

-Asian tour groups are annoying
-I’ve seen more smoking in 3 days than I’ve seen in the last decade
-It’s probably due to Ozempic but the Brits have taken our title as fattest tourists and it might be a landslide victory frankly

Let government pay for healthcare, it will control even further what you can or can’t do.

Clearly not. 30% of UK is obese. That crushes the healthcare system

I never thought they'd ban smoking in pubs and restaurants, but they did.
Damn the traditions!

Remember when you were 19 and waited outside the liquor store for your 21 year old friend to buy it for you?
Well, in the UK, there eventually will be some 91 year olds in a nursing home who are waiting outside the store for their 93 year old friend to buy them a cigarette.

That kinda seems unfair to the 10 year olds that just started

The article feels like I’m reading something from 1226 or something. All these people in 2026 calling each other Lords.

I think it's quite likely that less smoking at the population level is actually bad for health.
