I know it is legal. So is ripping arse in church. It is just trashy as shite for your move to be recording someone.

Somewhat agree, but not my point. Her giving a personal legal opinion, conviction and sentencing over something she is obviously wrong about is my issue. Passenger probably pushed a little too far, and employee was all like, hold my beer and watch this.

Another thought, you think United employees are being told to stop people from recording since the dragging incident?

Oza says he was told it would cost $300 to check the same bulky bag that cost $125 on the way there.

Who is to say SF didn't make a mistake and should have charged him $300 on first flight? I am sure a reasonable person would have asked for a supervisor and or the pricing guidelines for bags.

Guy is an arse for filming IMO

He was fricking with the person that had all the power at that point. Same idea as don't frick with people that have access to your food. They hold the power.

I'm sure he will get some comps and shite, hell maybe she gets fired. But, she obviously won and fricked up his day.

As for United, if the rule is no recording on the plane then they should.

Air travel isn't a right.

Neither is a right to privacy in a public place.

getting the facts is pointless if you can't prove them. Recording the conversation is the easiest way to make your case in the future. It's not my style but I can easily see the benefit.

To be fair some states are two party states that require both party's permissions to be filmed.

AFAIK LA is not one of those states.

The "two party rule" refers to a setting where you have a reasonable expectation of privacy. It never applies in a public setting unless you get into commercial applications which doesn't apply here. This is akin to those states that tried to pass "don't record the police" laws and the Fed Courts said nope.

Weight of the bag.
Where I am flying.
How much they charged.

Seems pretty easy to me.

It wasn't inside the fricking plane. Jesus. This happened at the ticket counter, in the terminal.

I have no feeling for United one way or the other, but you cannot equate a $10/hour employee with "United" as if they honestly are going to give a shite about representing the company at that pay rate. That's like assuming your Popeyes cashier is representative of Popeyes as a whole.

Sure, an employer wants their employees to represent the company in a positive way, but let's not act like it is shocking that someone who barely makes above minimum wage doesn't give a shite how the company comes off when they have a camera and an entitled a-hole in their face.

Lots of things are legal, yet a total dick move. It is legal to decide you didn't like your restaurant meal and scream at your waitress, but she is not bound by law to sit there and take it. She can get a manager, or hell, she can walk out the front door and bail. If you yell at her before you get your food, she certainly has the power to cancel your order (like canceling your plane ticket) and most people wouldn't question it. For whatever reason, airlines are expected by the public to bend over backwards in ways that other businesses are not.

(FWIW, I was entirely against United for the dragging incident. I still think people who fly, especially those who don't do it regularly, are entitled assholes)

They werent inside the plane. They were at the gate. In the terminal. Which is a public space and she can be recorded whether she likes it or not.

Obviously sounds like the guy was acting like a douche....but the gate attendant fricked up too.

I agree with your point, but some of Popeyes competitors (like Cane's or CFA) seem to be staffed with mostly professional, friendly employees. I doubt they pay much more.

Same with some of United's competitors. Southwest is a good example. Encounters with gate agents and flight attendants should be positive unless they actually want to be the Burger King of the airline industry.

Try forgetting to take your shoes off when going through the metal detector. I swear they thought I had a suicide vest on. They started freaking out and made all lines stop to make me take off my shoes and go back through the metal detector

Isn't TSA a private company? IMHO, they should be able to cancel anyone they want just like bars and restaurants can refuse service

Not surprised. United has the worst gate agents I've ever seen.

They are made up of about 50% people who really don't know what they're doing, and 50% people who are burned out from what they are doing. They end up treating the customer as someone who cannot be understood, and someone they don't want to understand, respectively.

I've been treated rudely by lots of people in my life, but few come close to the customer service pros at United. NEVER fly that fricking airline, OT brothers.

frick YOU! How are people who fly every so often, entitled assholes? I pay for my ticket, I am bound to receive certain things. This is why YOU come across as such a know-it-all...Thousands of people fly every day and they are ALL entitled assholes.

What an idiot.

No offense.

asked someone else (or a supervisor) to take over and removed myself from the situation entirely.

Or give him world class customer service and ask him to post it on the internet.

And be sure to ask him to send you a copy so that you can post it on the internet since he probably won't post world class customer service.
