This ain't one of those cases. This guy was in the elite class and you can be sure this case will get resources that the trailer park homicide or urban shooting would not.

If anyone knows who this is call the FBill

As soon as I heard about him being shot, I told my wife it was probably someone whose loved one had a procedure denied and died because of it.
Technically isn't committing murder every time they delay or deny a life-saving procedure?
Health Insurance should be non-profit.

what am I missing? I went back to watch the video and there's only 2 seconds. I'm assuming what we got yesterday was yanked?

The gun used in the shooting hasn't been recovered, sources said.

Police believe the shooter used a B&T Station Six, known in Great Britain as a Welrod pistol, according to police sources. The gun doesn't have a silencer but does have a long barrel that enables the 9 mm to fire a nearly silent shot. The gun requires manually cycling ammunition from the magazine.

The weapon is not easily attainable so investigators have been running down all recent purchases, according to police sources. NYPD detectives arrived Thursday at a gun shop in Connecticut that sold a weapon of the same type, sources said.

Very unlikely. He was racking it like a normal slide (as opposed to having to unlock the bolt with a B&T), and there wouldn't have been unspent rounds left behind

UNH profit margin in the last 4 quarters is 6%. Is a 6% profit considered ripping people off? If they went to a non-profit model, expenses go down 6%, does that move the needle on anything?
Non-troll question. And maybe deserves its own topic.

LINK
On Thursday, a day after the shooting outside a hotel in Midtown Manhattan, a series of developments — details of the stay at the hostel, a possible link to a gun purchased in Connecticut, bullet casings inscribed with the words “deny” and “delay” — suggested investigators could be inching closer to identifying the gunman.
If true - seems to be someone who had someone close denied coverage. (Could be wrong, but sure seems that way).

Is it murder every time someone dies during an approved procedure?

It’s nice how this has brought together lefties that are on medicaid and right wingers that all have blue cross

I mean sure, lol. If this was the movies this is spot on. It could be the case, I don't know.
But if you are banging his wife and want it to look like a frustrated spouse of someone that was denied coverage, that's exactly what I'd do also

Doctors in one of the Internet’s top medical communities have turned on the murdered UnitedHealthcare (UHC) CEO Brian Thompson in such brutal fashion that Reddit moderators deleted a thread on the killing.
The moderators of r/medicine closed the thread, posted Wednesday after news broke that Thompson was shot dead outside the New York Hilton hotel in Midtown Manhattan, after it racked up over 500 replies.
The commenters overwhelmingly criticized—and satirized—the insurer’s alleged denial of coverage to sick and dying Americans in order to juice profits.
And y'all thought it was just me. Most of you cannot fathom how corrupt this company is. They are not despised for being profitable, they are despised at the illegal and deceptive means by which they make their money and have gained such a foothold in healthcare. They own politicians. They have repeatedly proven to be above the law. Hopefully this will open some eyes and prompt a really comprehensive and in depth investigation into UHC and their practices. Then Humana, Cigna etc. but UHC is the worst, and they've been even worse under Brian Thompson.

Same, I went to show it to a guy at work and it was only 2 seconds. Could have sworn it was the whole encounter yesterday when it was originally posted.

Considering the cost of operating expenses, overhead, etc, the cost to the average consumer is way higher than 6%, for very questionable value.

Is this thread gonna go the way of health insurance bitching or true crime detective type information?
If it's the former, I'll check out of this thread.

That margin is leaving out what may be massively bloated upper management and C-suite compensation structure. In a "perfect" world you would not have that in an ideal non-profit so the numbers might look significantly different. That said there is no perfect world and no ideal non-profit so it is possible with a shift to non-profit the numbers might stay the same or get even "worse" for the insured. US healthcare is broken in many ways but there are no simple and certainly no perfect solutions when humans are involved.

Witnesses say he hung around the building for hours prior to the murder.
Surveillance video has him exiting the nearest subway stop at 615 am and is at a Starbucks prior to 630 am.
The perp was not likely on site more than 15 minutes prior to the shooting.

Could be using it as cover and not really on a call?
It's a stretch to say he is pretending to talk with someone on a cell phone. Most likely, he was communicating with another person who had the victim under surveillance.

You think care isn’t denied in all healthcare systems?
