Not the Bostonians (Sam Adams, John Adams, etc.). Mostly the Virginians were aristocrats, and even those we celebrate to today were revolutionaries.
I'd also argue that Jefferson would be populist in modern times, similar to Milei in Argentina. He was sympathetic to the French Revolution and decentralized power.

Not true
The founding fathers were farmers, which means they were blue collar
The British all had the 1700s equivalent of email jobs

George Washington was a sugar baby.

Jefferson was a genuis. Made the Lousiana Purchase and sent Lewis and Ckark to explore the vast West. My favorite President.

Haven’t kept up with everything today. Any discussion of the shooter traveling/communicating with others? Pretty sure he was talking to someone on his phone as he walked towards the hotel area. Also, was he with others at the hostel he was staying at?

Just saw that he used a fake id to check into the hostel and paid cash. Some are calling it a protest killing. Will be pretty funny if this one picture of him without a mask is what does him in.

-Partial face pics
-Water bottle and candy wrapper (hopefully with prints and maybe dna)
-Geofence warrant for cell phone use in approximate area (if he used a burner then maybe they know who else he contacted)
Should be sufficient evidence to get a positive ID

I posted this in the other thread but it's possible that the guy suicided himself by paying somebody to do in hopes of his family getting an insurance payout.
He was facing a potential federal prison term for insider trading, which doesn't typically have very long sentences but that could have been enough for him or there could have been other illegal stuff he did that he knew would be uncovered so he sent himself threatening messages and had the messages written on the bullets to make it look like somebody pissed at the company did it.

So when will they be taking a look at lawmakers for doing the same?

Don't condone murder of slimy CEOs of predatory companies but I'm not shedding any tears either. Assassin should be caught and prosecuted. But I hope (doubt) it serves as a wakeup call to these slimy companies henchmen.
Prosecuting him after making him a folk hero will do wonders for the "law and order" crowd. I'm sure that's a stable foundation for society to work from.

Should be easy for web sleuths to find out who he is. CT is a small state.

Or, like they do with some eye surgeries, they'll split the procedure into two encounters so they can get paid twice for one eye rather than once on both eyes.
I always thought that for a surgery involving the eyes they only did one at a time in case there was an adverse event, so the patient didn't come out fully blind.

Doctors in one of the Internet’s top medical communities have turned on the murdered UnitedHealthcare (UHC) CEO Brian Thompson in such brutal fashion that Reddit moderators deleted a thread on the killing.
The moderators of r/medicine closed the thread, posted Wednesday after news broke that Thompson was shot dead outside the New York Hilton hotel in Midtown Manhattan, after it racked up over 500 replies.
The commenters overwhelmingly criticized—and satirized—the insurer’s alleged denial of coverage to sick and dying Americans in order to juice profits.
The top comment, which received hundreds of supporting upvotes from other users, mocked UHC’s notorious track record for refusing to pay out insurance claims and is written as a lengthy, spoof rejection letter from the company.
Addressed to an unnamed applicant—following “a careful review of the claim submitted for emergency services on December 4, 2024"—it informs them they are being rejected for coverage because “you failed to obtain prior authorization before seeking care for the gunshot wound to your chest.”
“If you would like to appeal the fatal gunshot, please call 1-800-555-1234 with case # 123456789P to initiate a peer to peer within 48 hours of the fatal gun shot,” wrote one user.
Another paraphrased the early 20th Century trade union lawyer Clarence Darrow: "I’ve never wished a man dead, but I have read some obituaries with great pleasure."
Dozens and dozens more expressed similar sentiment.
That original thread may have been deleted but criticism of Thompson on Reddit has not died down. Roughly 16 hours after the deleted post was made in r/medicine, another user made a separate post soliciting thoughts on the murder. It has remained up.
As with the previous thread, some comments contain humor or outrage expressed at UHC.
But others—including from doctors and medical professionals—offer incisive and unsparing critiques of Thompson’s business practices.
One medical doctor, whose identity the Daily Beast confirmed, commented with sympathy for Thompson’s family and said the killer should be charged with murder, but then wondered about the damage the CEO had done.

Homicides are statistically unlikely to be solved after 48 hours has passed. The clock is ticking.

He was seen talking into a phone. Nobody knows yet if there was somebody on the other end. One article this morning said they had recovered his phone from where the bike was parked.
