Anything from Infiniti. Largest depreciation off the lot of any manufacturer, and offers a subpar (imo) product for a "luxury" vehicle compared to other manufacturers.

Plus the Edgar's love the G35 which makes me hate it

And yet Volkswagen ran an ad campaign last year mocking competitors for all looking the same, with that damn “Little Boxes” song. I have was going “My Kraut, y’all look just like them”.

I do miss the 2-door coups. Had two 90's thunderbirds. One with a V8. Loved the last Lincoln two door. Was beautiful. Lexus made a gorgeous one too.

Not even the Monte Carlo survived.

But yeah, most of the cars in the 80s were crappy. Outside of a Corvette or one of the trucks, I can't think of a single GM I would take from the 80's, including the Camaros. Fords? Same thing. There is a reason the Supras and 300's took off.

Most people have largely forgotten the early 80’s cars with give or take around 100 hp and a 3 speed automatic transmission. Their bad driving experience was often matched with equally poor quality.

There is a lesson there. We would still be driving crap cars if we had not introduced foreign competition.

The Ford Pinto from the 1970: Placed the fuel tank right behind the rear axle with little protection. Low-speed rear impacts could puncture the tank and burst into fames.

ell, the "muscle cars" of the 80's basically had zero horse power. A 1980 Z28 had 190 HP. My wife's 2019 Traverse has 310...

It was a sign of the times..., a Toyota Minivan from 10yrs ago had more power than a Ferrari 328 from the 80's...

Blame the insurance companies back then.

When Iacocca brought out the LeBaron convertible, it was considered revolutionary at the time.

Those Merkur's could be tuned to over 300 HP! They were awesome to work on and drive at the time.

Most mustangs from that era looked like this, and they were all slow as frick. Even the GT model of the day wasn't really fast. Cobras were RARE, and hard to distinguish as unique from a distance.

Those things sucked. I had a 96 and even with heads, cams, intake and a blower it wasn't that fast. Especially not by todays standards.

F90 BMWs are awesome, fast, and reliable.

Unfortunately, 2025+ M5s are extremely overweight.

The SS was cool bc of the manual mated to the 6.2, but you're right, the market response was underwhelming.

they've killed the popular Passat sedan

My family rented a Passat hatchback in 1996 in Germany, everyone loved it. Couldn't get them in the US.

Then when they did bring a version of that one to the US, it sucked, and instead of fixing it, they killed it.

I'd love a German Passat hatchback manual trans from 1996, in 1996 condition.

The Chevy SS was similar. If you knew cars, you knew that it was an M5 killer at the time.

What?

He's right? The Chevy SS, not the SSR or any of those hideous creations Chevy made.

He's talking about these:

A pretty rare car in the US but absolutely packed with HP
