Guy was a violent nut, but had some interesting insight into humanity in retrospect.

You really should read it though and come to your own conclusions.

ETA: nvm he was transferred to a medical facility a few years ago.

The article said a medical facility in North Carolina. My assumption is that means the prison in Butner.

If you haven't seen pictures of the rudimentary sex doll Ted fabricated to keep him company in his cabin, it's definitely worth a Google search.

It’s a really interesting criticism of society and the disconnect between modern life, and our basic nature as animals. His point is that we’re designed to live in the wild as hunter gatherers, and further the move from that, the less satisfied we are.

He was funny when he wrote about leftism too.

He was clearly very smart, but he had no viable solution to the problems he talked about.

Unless I’m being sexist, then I’m always serious

I'm thinking we need another thread about women in combat and the easing of military fitness standards.

It's time

The animal instinct that is our pure base nature will always win. Always.

We can leash it and keep it at bay, for the most part, with all our modern conveniences, but it will always be there, ready to take over. We fool ourselves in thinking that anything other than survival and advancement of our species matters, survival being paramount. Only modern civility and the comfort it brings allows us that luxury.

There. Now, that should cement my place on some list somewhere.

Yep, modernity is separating people from humanity.

trans-humanism will be the goal, and we should fight hard.

The long con message which is called "democracy" has been spread through terrorism for ages now so what did he really do so wrong? Forget to pin the "US Government" label on?

The Unabomber Manifesto is an interesting read. The evolution of technology section of the manifesto highlights how Kaczynski, like many before him and many after, wasn't really mad about the evolution of technology, he was mad about progress, because progress presents new problems that need to be solved and lessons that need to be learned. For example, in the present day age of Googles Project Maven (another good read), and the notion of leveraging AI for weaponizing DOD military hardware. Kazcynski, almost by definition in his technology summary of the manifesto, highlights where solutions to old problems, teaches us new lessons. It’s not the evolution of new product innovation, it’s the men behind the decision making of how the technology would be utilized is the main issue at hand.
