Why is it more logical to believe in aliens but not time travelers?
Why would a time Traveller from the future or past end up on earth? Isn't it more likely they end up at some empty point in space?

Following the public hearing, the committee closed its doors for a private classified session with lawmakers.
Where all of the previous unexplained phenomena were clearly explained to lawmakers as non terrestrial organic organisms with technology not available to humans.

There's evidence of Dyson type activity, it's observable to laypeople.
Explain this. The only one I'd heard of was finally explained as dust blocking the light of the star.

Because the odds of intelligent life existing are more likely than the odds of being able to travel back in time.

It is absolutely mind blowing to think about how good our government is using so many fricking words to say absolutely nothing nothing

It was an actual balloon

Space aliens are proctologists from another Galaxy.
They come here to practice.
They come here to practice.

There has to be intelligent life that can come here, that wants to come here ,and has come here. That’s a lot different than intelligent life existing somewhere.

Are the possible logistics of interstellar travel really more fathomable than those for time travel, though?

If they did not know anything... there is no reason to have a close door hearing after the public hearing.
The reason for the closed door meeting was to discuss the findings of our military's classified sensors. Not to reveal alien contact.
Things are classified because we can't let our enemies know what we know and how we know it. Sort of like the British hiding the fact that Alan Turing had built a machine to decode Germany's Enigma Machine.
In a similar vein; we may know they're a chinese built surveilance drone because of the rf signature being detected by a sensor on our aircraft. We're not gonna let them know we know that.
We're in the drone warfare age. 90% of these sightings are probably due to some sort of advanced drone tech.

Yes, you can’t just travel through time, you would have to travel through space-time.

Discussion in Washington DC of whether intelligent life has visited Earth would be like holding a conference on human heterosexual norms in College Station.

quote:Ive seen a video of similar but what occurred was a shift to an increased magnification of the jet's camera which made the object, which was not centered in the view, appear to defy physics and suddenly shoot off to the left and out of view.
But there was one short video clip from the cockpit of a military plane that seemed to show a stationary object that accelerated at a ridiculous speed

The government has been run by aliens since Roswell.

I watched a good bit of the hearing and the best part was when the Naval Intelligence guy seemed to imply that they had been watching Youtube videos of Mick West or other guys who explain the optical illusions of the UAP vids that have been made public.
And with pretty much all of the public hearing about UAPs being possible foreign threats, that's why there was a classified portion of the hearing. The videos are probably a minor aspect in the scheme of things because the DOD has a massive amount of sensor info they get from radar and RF both in the atmosphere and near-earth keeping track of space junk and hostile rocket and missile launches.

So what's going on here - is this some secret military tech that they're trying to hide in plain sight?
Correct

Random thought or heat stroke, pick one, but we seem to hear so much discussion on 'what' these things are, where they came from, and to 'whom' do they belong. But what are they doing? As in, at the time we observe them, what actions are they taking? Where are they going? What direction?
Hard to gauge because next to nothing ever gets confirmed. We hear reports of objects above nuke launch sites and how ICBMs were either shut off or all launch codes switched on, then deactivated.
That to me sounds like a hell of a credible threat. Not just to the USA but to humanity.
But putting that stuff aside, what about the USS Nimitz case? Off the coast of CA? We have dozens of objects, verified, appearing to fly in formation, almost nonchalantly and ignoring our carrier group. Then there was the 'sinking ship', an object the tic tacs seemed to hover over and around. Was there ever any follow up at that location?
I think there are other ways to look at these sightings. Especially if the gov isn't going to be open and honest with us.

I’ll bite.
A couple of reasons:
1. Given our current understanding of the laws of physics, interstellar travel appears to be more easily accomplished than time travel. Interstellar travel is an engineering problem - speed, distance, and survivability. Time travel is a theoretical physics problem that is beyond our current understanding. As such, it makes sense that people would view interstellar visitors as more plausible.
2. Time travel is full of paradoxes, and most good solutions to those paradoxes involve accepting that free will doesn’t exist. So if time travel is possible, it raises some pretty uncomfortable philosophical questions.
