So you think they should be forced to go to work? Y’all need to think before you spit out everything that goes through your brain

They are protesting due to what they call unequal compensation and unsatisfactory working conditions.

Do the travel nurses receive the same benefits the staff nurses receive? Health insurance? Retirement? Malpractice insurance? Etc?

Respiratory therapists are not getting adequate compensation. Nurses are getting raises and making a big fuss. There are more medical professionals than nurses working their asses off but you never hear about them.

No. I think they should be fired.

It is always about the money. Someone should tell them the majority of us “essential” workers still showed up to work for the same pay as before covid. No work from home, no bonus, just showed up because it was needed.

There are certain jobs where you have a duty to work for a reasonable amount of time or until a replacement can be found. I’d say nursing falls into that category.

Travel nurses worse than travel baseball.
You’ve obviously missed out on what they are good at.

Them leaving town is part of their charm.

Nurses have created this kind of social media cult to convince each other that they're all great martyrs and savants holding public healthcare together with a shoestring.

One of my aunt's is a recently retired nurse, and ever since covid hit, you would think the average nurse was Mahatma Gandhi with a pHD if you looked at her Faccebook posts.

This is about travel nurse pay rates vs locals right?

Nah, they claim they are paid 8% less than surrounding areas in the region.

Y'all shite on nurses, but good nurses are worth WAY more than they are paid. I hate pay scales they use, it give no incentive to work better. Put in your time, get a raise. Raises should be on merit.

Oh, and the entire travel nurse thing. Local hospital pays $23/hr for its full time nurses starting, travel nurses with 1 year experience are getting $60/hr. If nurses knew how to negotiate and were willing to move for better pay hospitals would pay a whole lot more than $23/hr for a nurse. I saw a posting for $90/hr in NOLA, but that is probably Ida related. I do see nurses offered in the ballpark of $90/hr to travel though.

I am starting a new career soon, well maybe, if they try to start me at the bottom I'll just do something else. I went back to school more to learn than to get a job. You don't need a degree to get a good job and I am really more interested in a good schedule (working 3-4 days a week) and time off than any other benefits. I know some places will pay more if you sign on without the benefits package.
