As a former reporter, you have tunnel vision when you are on camera, whether in the field or in studio. You're so focused on the task at hand.

It looked like he shot or walked out and immediately shot the cameraman from an open door/hallway behind the cameraman and to his left. So the reporter would have only seen the gunman as soon as he came out and fired. Cameraman looked to be shot from behind.

I wonder if they knew he was there and he was taunting them and they just ignored it and did their segment. She looked a little nervous during the interview.
