re: Sammy Watkins to Chiefs, 3 years, $48M - Allen Robinson to the Bears, 3 years $42M - HickoryofOld on 3/13/18 at 8:52 am
If you’re getting Sammy from his Clemson days, that contract is definitely worth it. He was an absolute stud. Unfortunately, he’s never lived up to that college hype. I’ll be shocked if he does in KC, especially the second half of the seasons when injuries start piling up and that wind and cold b...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)
re: Dog Owners who had to put their dogs down... - HickoryofOld on 3/8/18 at 12:25 pm
We had similar concerns with our 7-year-dog when we put our 14-year-dog down in August. After a couple of weeks, it was obvious he was lonely, and we started to look for another dog. But over time, he seems to have enjoyed being an only dog with more attention and more opportunities to go places. ...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)
re: How would you handle? (Ex-GF) long... - HickoryofOld on 2/21/18 at 12:47 pm
This is honestly why I come here. True or not, it’s a great read. If not true, I’d be pitching this fiction to the same publishers that did “Gone Girl.” Women from 20 to 50 will read the story, go to the movies to watch Ben Affleck play your role, and flocked to you in droves. I wish you the best....Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)
re: Chick-fil-A is beating every competitor by training workers to say 'please' and 'thank you - HickoryofOld on 2/9/18 at 4:54 pm
I think it’s a very selective process, where less than 5% of those that apply for a franchise are accepted. Also, you have zero say in where you’ll be located and don’t know where the store will go until the end of the process. ...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)
re: Nothing less than incredible that Muggsy Bogues was a long time NBA player - HickoryofOld on 2/9/18 at 8:22 am
He sort of reinvented his game in his last season with the Hornets. Injuries started to catch up with him, so he was nowhere near as quick and as big of a dribble drive threat. Because of that, he developed a pretty good jump shot and took advantage of Vlade Divac’s ability to pass the ball from the...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)
re: Calling all parents. - HickoryofOld on 2/6/18 at 11:28 am
My daughter had an allergy to my wife’s breast milk and we switched her to a formula that was $10 per day. There’s also a convenience, at least as a Dad, to breastfeeding. Don’t count on it, but I’d encourage you to help your wife in establishing it and hope your kid does well with it. You’ll benefi...

re: UPDATE: Last minute parent advice? - HickoryofOld on 2/4/18 at 11:48 am
Take all advice with a grain of salt. Every kid is different, so what worked for some, won’t work for others. It’s a great, rewarding ride that can bring you and your wife even closer. Just know that if they don’t sleep, they eventually will. If they don’t eat, they eventually will. If they’re sick,...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (1)
re: Travel in Ireland - HickoryofOld on 1/23/18 at 11:56 am
I second Howth. You can ride the train (30 minutes or so) and spend a day in the village. There’s an awesome cliff hike that allows you to experience the countryside and there are some nice pubs nearby. It’s a great place to get away from the hysteria of the city....

re: Prediction: Saban steps down after 2018 - HickoryofOld on 12/2/17 at 3:03 pm
Yeah, and by 2021, Dabo’s contract will expire in 2026. Clemson will continue to extend and add money to it, as time passes. He may certainly go to Alabama, but your theory does not make sense. Contracts for coaches are almost always at least 4 years long at any time so as other coaches can’t us...

re: The son whom Rae Carruth tried to kill in order to avoid paying child support is now 18 - HickoryofOld on 11/16/17 at 7:26 pm
Sort of wish the grandmother was acting like she forgave Carruth only to get in front of him when he gets out and gutting him from his brains to his testicles. But for a woman to sacrifice what she has over the last 18 years, I imagine she actually is able to forgive that POS....Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)
re: Wtf are cloth diapers and are they cheaper in the long run? - HickoryofOld on 11/13/17 at 7:29 pm
And you’ll also likely have to replace some of your own clothes due to the higher rate of blowouts/pee throughs that occur compared to disposable diapers. Yeah, mistakes happen with both but it’s at an extremely higher rate early on when you’re still learning how to put the cloth diapers on....Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)
