To be fair, these countries have always hated each other and will continue to hate each other. There's also, quite frankly, a racism and historical component here of 1) nobody cares about India/Pakistan, as they tend to not look like America/Europe and 2) historically the United States has not cared at all about India whereas we had a cold war with Russia, so Boomers absolute despise Russia.

Remember: Pakistan is in a VERY delicate situation right now. There is a serious uprising in the Western part of the country which the government is struggling to put down. The country’s economy is in near collapse as a combination of natural disasters and bad financial decisions have caused them to be unable to provide sufficient electricity to run their textile industry. Food is getting expensive and most people in Pakistan’s major cities are struggling to find work. The regime is hanging on by a thread, and that thread is being propped up by the Chinese Communist Party.

They do this cross border thing every few years up in the north. I highly doubt India is going to drive on Islamabad. Probably going after the cells that carried out the attack in Kashmir last week.

China is pretty standoffish in this type of thing as a general rule. That said, anything that Pakistan does has Beijing's blessing.
