HEB is the best regional grocery store and it isn't close.

The man took time out of his busy day to give this detailed recap. I’d give him a 9/10 for effort.

I’m thinking this dude is either fully mentally retarded, has some form of autism, is AI, or is just one of the biggest losers we’ve ever come across, excluding LSUCoyote

Friend,

The GOAT grocery story was Carola’s in lacombe, circa 1989. Your formulas fail to account for the familiarity of an old friend or the hours of entertainment provided by letting a young boy operate the foot pedal that controlled the conveyor at the checkout. Please adjust your formulas accordingly and re-evaluate your results.

Alas, we have none of those stores in the NoVa area. But I always enjoy your informative posts.

I think the real danger is he is coming close to encroaching on Kige's territory. If/when that line well and truly gets crossed there will be blood.

TulaneLSU armed with a 17th-century Italian rapier (purchased from AntiqueTiger) and Kige with a chunk of concrete he found in a Walmart parking lot will be a battle for the ages. It will be live-streamed on Youtube sports and Kige will simultaneously fight and commentate. TulaneLSU will write a book about the affair and the cover picture will be a Sonic sign sprayed with blood from the warriors.

I have spent years of my life shopping almost exclusively at each of the three, and they each do some things better than the others, but the clear winner in my opinion is Publix.

But Publix sandwich-sub bar sadly just does not make the cut. The much ballyhooed subs at Publix fail for me. I tried two and both times I thought Subway made a better sub.

Alright you can frick right off.

Here’s the real rankings:

Publix has the better bakery, deli, and store brand.

HEB is better at literally everything else - basically it’s a better at being a grocery store.

Rouses is a step above the other options in Louisiana, but well below HEB and Publix. Except for the Drusilla location. That location is absolute garbage and they should shut it down and start over.

While rouses seems to be a middle of the pack grocery store it is so much better than Publix.

I agree TulaneLSU.

I have never been to a HEB unfortunately.

However if you are making a gumbo or red beans and rice the only mass grocery chain that will facilitate this is Rouses. It is unabashedly Louisiana. Their local picks and local stocked items are what truly make it shine.

And the prices aren’t bad either.

Shopping at Rouses feels as much as shopping at a neighborhood grocery as a chain can get.

Publix is like a vapid soulless Grocery Inc. as possible.

Florida has no soul nor culture and it is embodied in Publix.
