Based on the description I was expecting a shocking display of physical abuse, but instead all I saw was a TSA agent performing a pat down in the exact procedural manner that they're told/trained to do.
It's troubling how invasive airport security has become but the agent didn't do anything outside what and how TSA trains them.

bullshite unless you are a woman or transgendered. Per TSA: You will receive a pat-down by an officer of the same gender.
I fly over 100 times per year. I have had to endure the pat-down and I have never been screened by a woman. It just doesn’t happen.

granted I only fly a a couple of times a year, but that has literally never happened anywhere else. Shoes, yes, belt, never.
I go to the court house a couple of times a month. Always have to take off belt.
Last time I flew, had to take belt off. If you go through the full body scan, you can't even have a piece of lent in your pocket. I get it, they say take everything out of your pockets and there is something in there. So they have to pull you aside and check.

It’s not that sensitive, man.

Looks like a Saturday Night Live skit.

What this country has become is fricking disgusting to be quite honest. The fact that we actually endure this police state filth is mind boggling.

you haven’t had an comfortable pat down until a little Chinese chick checks your waistband in beijing and lets her fingers get a little to far down the front of your pants.

Trump doesn't approve
“Not a good situation” does not encourage me that he would actually do anything to stymie the overreach of the TSA or bring any sound reasoning to this police state fiasco patting down 9 year old American kids, and 80 year olds like they’re some kind of threat. The real threat to the American way is found in those patting people down and those who approve of it.

I work in an industry where I have to deal with people like you regularly, and on behalf of everyone that has to deal with your dumb fricking arse on a daily basis: kindly go frick yourself. I will never understand how someone can take a COMPLETELY standard procedure that’s been done since the inception of TSA and act like they’re bewildered that it happens. Do you just go through life not paying attention to anything that goes on around you? Or are you just an a-hole that likes to bitch about anything and everything?

I was expecting a lot worse than that when I clicked.
Definitely overkill for sure, but no way illegal IMO.
I don’t know what “by the book” is for those searches or how they’re trained to do it, but I also got the impression he knew he was being recorded and was doing a very thorough “by the book” search
Definitely akward and ridiculous and unnecessary for a kid that age, but I disagree with it being illegal or even fireable.

I got a funny tsa story. Was in Orlando and had to get the ol pat down, my belt was off which meant my pants were loose. Dude tells me to lift my hands and then jerks my pants down, my pants went flying along with my boxers, straight down to my ankles. Everyone in line started laughing, my shite was exposed. I made him pick up my pants. Oh frick tsa is too much

You don’t have to take your belt off. Everyone thinks you do so one person does then everyone takes theirs off. Or you get a TSA agent on a power trip and they make you. I’ve been through the regular line plenty of times with my belt on.

If you watch This demonstration of what the TSA patdown is supposed to be, the guy with the kid seems to follow it pretty closely.

I bet you're terrified by socks. How do you make it out of the home?

Wrong. If the belt has a metal buckle you are required to take it off.
quote:
Flyers must remove belts before walking through metal detectors, so choose a belt-free outfit, or at least be prepared to remove your belt if you want to wear one. Belts aren't permitted through airport security because their metal clasps set off the metal detector.

Be ready to remove your belt if it has a metal buckle.
