Get dressed up to walk around in a parking lot getting candy out of the trunks of cars instead of going door to door?

Watered down shite. Part of the fun is going to the houses.

Used to be fun going to houses until more than half the neighborhood turns off their lights so they do not have to give out candy. Seems no one even decorates any more.

Not a lot of neighborhoods in my area have many houses that pass out candy anymore. In my parents neighborhood, maybe 1 of every 15 houses has their porch light on for Halloween. My neighborhood isnt much better. We do trunk or treat at school the weekend before Halloween, then for Halloween go to a friend’s house whose neighborhood still has a nice Halloween

It's a really cool way to do Halloween, we don't let our kid actually go but he can watch it from home on a GoPro. It's safe AND spooky.

Organized by wormy women in fear-mongering conservative enclaves, no doubt. Fall Festivals are ironically the Happy Holidays of October to these busy bodies.

Don’t even get me started on that.

‘Oh, we are having Halloween at 4:30 so the precious snowflake kids don’t have to be outside in the dark.’

Maybe they should stay in their own part of town and stop raiding neighborhoods they aren’t invited to

I bet there's still one a-hole that gives out candy corn from their trunk.

I've only seen this at churches and daycares. It has never been on Halloween night, so the kids get to wear their costume more than once and bring home more candy for me to steal. I don't see the problem.

Our neighborhood doesn't go all out with decorations, but there is always a block party back in there, all houses give out candy nearby, and someone brings a trailer for a hayride for the kids and he makes laps for about an hour to make sure everyone that wants to ride gets to.

Pisses me off too.

First neighborhood my wife and I moved into had kids everywhere. I assumed that Halloween was going to be a big thing.

One. One trick or treater. And it was pathetic. Looked like the kid was miserable.

I asked my neighbor about it and she told us that the Baptist megachurch put on a big trunk or treat festival on Halloween night and no one trick or treats in the neighborhood anymore.

Some of my fondest memories are from trick or treating in my neighborhood in New Orleans. Candy. Costumes. Drunk dumbass neighbors popping out of nowhere with a real chainsaw, blades still on. Ahhh. Good times.

Is this the thread where I get to act triggered over having black kids trick or treating in ‘muh neighborhood’ ?
