It’s not the kids I care about so much, it’s the fricking teenagers who ride around in cars have no costume on and then try to steal candy.

In theory I agree, in reality:
1) How do I say this...a bunch of people who don't look like people in your neighborhood walking around at night is just generally frowned upon, even if you know there probably isn't anything fishy going on; and
2) (my only real issue) Kids from other areas often act like kids from other areas (rude, demanding, shitty parents). Plus you get a lot of impolite 12-16 year olds participating who aren't in costume and who kind of ruin the whole spirit of the thing

I don't care what neighborhood they come from as long as they are well behaved, in costume, and actually children. The ones that piss me off are the older teens that don't even bother with costumes. They get no candy.

My friend likes me to keep the fun sized chocolates in my fridge, so I went to buy a new bag last weekend and the damn thing was $10.50 for a 60-piece bag. We used to think people were being jerks when they only allowed one piece of candy each, but I see why now.

Churches try their best to ruin Halloween because of the insecurities and ignorance of those in the organization.

There's a professional one at a carpet factory in the ATL that is the best one I've ever been to (including Halloween Horror Nights at Universal). We went in right behind a group of 20 something black girls. It was awesome. Alternating laughing my arse off and having a heart attack from those assholes jumping out of every shadow.

We get a lot of kids because our street is known for the real size candy bars.

My parents have this happen every year too
I'm surprised we don't have more since I live in a really large neighborhood. Supposedly, it is much bigger on the other side. We are 2-3 neighborhoods all connected to each other (College Hill, University Acres, etc.) and there's a park that always has kids on the other side of the neighborhood, so I bet trick or treat is popular over there.Posted on 10/24/17 at 5:06 pm to TigerstuckinMS

I saw the 10:30PM showing of IT a little over a month ago and was the only white person in the place. It was a blast. Every time something really terrifying and loud would end, you'd hear "AW LAWD HELP ME"

The sad thing is, a lot of people just don't give out candy anymore. 20 years ago, you could hit up damn near every house in parent's neighborhood. Now? My parents are literally one of two houses on the whole street that puts out jack o' lanterns and still gives out candy and since they're at the "dead end" of the street they might see 10 kids all night.
I usually buy a bag but we don't really have a lot of kids in our complex. They at least do a Halloween "block party" deal where they do all kinds of fall stuff, are encouraged to come in costume, etc.
The downfall of Halloween decorating and giving out candy is only second to legitimate Christmas decorations.

The one I volunteer at is fantastic for kids. No one wants to trick or treat in Holly Grove or New Orleans East. And my neighborhood has tons of trick or treaters, it's gotten so big kids are bussed in. It's pretty much nonstop families and kids in costumes for 3 hours Halloween night. It's great. There are the occasional packs of teenagers not in costume just taking candy, but whatever.
