But if we just save Karen from Facebook's 87 year old mother, it'll all be worth it.

A serious government level discussion should be had about the value of a human life.

This will be the hardest decision any POTUS will ever have to make. It was easy to shut it down, but opening back it back up will be critized no matter when, too early and people die, too late and we are in a major depression, not recession. The opening up of the country will be the defining moment for DJT.

Please pray for this administration.

I wonder if the suicides will be classified as covid19 deaths or not, and if there will be more suicides than actual deaths due to the virus?

This article is several weeks old, prior to him extending the federal social distancing guidelines. Unfortunately he lacked the political will to follow through on any of the open the country back up talk he started then.
He didn't "lack the political will," his advisors like Birx and Fauci (who actually know what they are talking about) convinced him that was an extremely stupid idea that would kill more people and do more harm to the economy in the long run, not to mention tanking his re-election chances.

Thank God, he was willing to listen to sense.

This leaves us with two options:

1. Fauci, a CDC leader with an MD in epidemiology and a lifetime of experience battling infectious diseases, does not know what he's talking about. In this case, Trump is a fool for keeping him in such a critical position, standing beside him in public, and continuing to take his advice.

2. Fauci and Birx do know what they're doing, and Trump and everyone else should follow their lead on matters of public health.

Which is it?

By the way, are you really sure that "no one who claimed that corona virus was under control and not yet a serious threat should be taken seriously" is the particular hill you want to choose to die on?

There was a sheriff/cop/someone with a badge and uniform on from Florida yesterday on FOX. Said they were having a spike in domestic violence cases as everyone is at home and the offender is able to do his/her thing and the victim has not much of an opportunity to get out to seek help.

Sad times y'all.

No, it doesn't. You don't seem particularly bright, but this isn't a binary decision. There are a lot of variables in play, and Fauci has proven himself to only be concerned with one of them.

They attribute 10,000 suicides to the 2008 financial crisis, which will end up being milder than this situation.

A guy in Grenta beat his father to death with his bare hands Friday.

Child and spousal abuse has to be skyrocketing right now.

And we haven’t even felt the first effects yet. This is nothing.

You know when it’s going to get bad? The end of next week. That will be the Purge when no one has gotten a paycheck for 2 weeks and the trump checks haven’t made it out yet. They’re will be looting and violence and I hope we’re prepared for it.

The youth are going to get restless soon
