Which is it?
Neither.

The guy called millions of unemployed an “inconvenience”.

He clearly doesn’t have any knowledge or care about any long ten effects regarding the economy.

He is an expert is his field and is narrow focused on that only.

This is a multifactorial situation.

We should not base all of our decisions on the opinions of one expert, in any situation.

What about economists? Or is their expertise not wanted?
He consulted with them too, but ultimately went with the decision to reverse course. Secretary Mnuchin supports his decision. LINK

Again, one of two things happened here:

The first possibility is that this article is wrong and Mnuchin and everyone else who claims that Trump consulted with them are lying, which means that Trump walked back his decision without taking economics into account, which was extremely foolish.

The second possibility is that Trump did consult his top economists and made the decision that he thought best balanced saving lives with economic considerations.

Which one is it?

Or he knows exactly what he’s talking about and is pushing an agenda.

Why did you leave that option out?

Agreed. It's a good thing that's not what's happening or else Trump would be exhibiting terrible decision making. LINK

What about economists? Sociologists? Psychiatrists?

I admit, I didn't list "Trump's top advisors are part of a secret cabal that are actively working against him but he's too stupid to know it" as a third option, but that's only because it's not worth taking seriously.

We do know that he met with economists, but I haven't seen proof of the other.

Again, he either met with all relevant experts before he reversed himself, or he didn't. He either did the smart thing, or the dumb thing. Either way, it's on him.

There's no need for mental contortions here. I'm not a Trump fan, but I think he made a wise decision to change his mind. If you normally support Trump but you think he made a rash decision that ruined the economy, just say so.

Just because they've got "MD" after their name, doesn't mean they have the critical thinking abilities this situation requires.

Let's assume you're right.

In that case Trump is pretty foolish for keeping them in their positions and following their recommendations, isn't he?

It’s not a secret cabal. It’s politics. Do you not understand basic politics?

Just wait for the media spin to really pick up. This is going to be fantastic for the democrat nominee.

We have to open back up by May 1. If people who have the virus or are at risk, they will have to continue to be careful.

I'm a Trump guy and agree with you. Trump should fire their asses. A novel virus needs a novel solution.
I suspect that's why Fauci is dragging feet on random testing. It's gonna exposed his bullshite narrative.

Curious as to how many people here -- in a vacuum -- would support more government spending on mental health?

Probably because it's fricking dumb and you need to be an uneducated hillbilly brainwashed by Fox News to believe it? Fauci is a scientist, he has no political agenda.

First, lay your cards on the table by answering three questions.

1. What exactly do you think Fauci's "agenda" is?

2. What is Fauci's motivation for accomplishing this agenda?

3. If Fauci is working to undermine the president, why hasn't Trump gotten rid of him the same way he did Bolton or Tillerson?

i hate this narrative sooo much.

who does know what the frick they are talking about in these situations? no one knows with any certainty how many people this will spread to, cause to be hospitalized, or will kill. And if anyone claims to, they are definitely full of shite. All these advisers can do is advise based on experience and what they do know.
