odge and GM are beating that with V8s. Ford is putting down good power with them, but not really any advantage from a fuel mileage standpoint.

I was getting 22 and slowly went down now steady at 20 mpg. I’ve heard GMCs get good gas mileage. I went back and forth. I haul arse to work down straight interstate. Ford does ride nice at 80/85.

they "all" feel under powered, and are, but they play with the gearing so they do the job and get good mileage

The fact that this even has to be said pretty much sums up Ford.

Mine is a Colorado v6. It runs great, tows the boat well tows a heavy tractor OK and gets good milage(city & hwy, not towing).

That said, the sound is weird/cheap. I like the sound of a V8 much better. If I still drove a full size, I would get the V8.

What HP tractor are you towing with a Colorado? You mean a zero turn?

I thought the Ford 6 cylinder was supposed to get far better gas mileage than 20.3 mpg.

Mine gets 24'ish highway and 18 in the city. I would have bought a V8 but found a dealer take home with 4k on it that was just too good of a deal to pass up.

I towed the old ford 3600. It was right at the 7K capacity counting the bushhog and trailer, and felt like it. I don't reccomend doing it often or very far.

I would not buy a naturally aspirated V6 in a full size truck. frick that.

Ecoboost have plenty power and everyone has their opinion as to reliability.

I don’t understand why Chevy is fricking with a 4 cyl instead of a V6. I would not buy it. The Chevy 6.2L is the engine I’d most prefer. The 5.3L gets as good mpg as the ecoboost and is bulletproof.

I drive an ‘07 Sierra 1500 V6. Over 90,000 miles with no engine trouble whatsoever. It’s the first vehicle I ever owned. Been driving it since 2011. No intentions of getting rid of it for at least a few more years.

I ha e a 2018 2.7 EcoBoost Supercrew. I've only had it for 1.5 months, but have about 5k miles on it. Average 22 + mpg with Houston commuting. Reliability remains to be known, but drivability is fine.

I've not towed with it yet. But just starting from a light, etc., it has plenty of power. Problem with them is apparently the fuel mileage disappears as soon as you tap into the power though. You dont get both, it's an either/or situation.

Ford offers two different Ecoboost V6s. The 2.7 gets better mpgs than all but the Eco Diesel Ram while still being faster than a lot of trucks. The 3.5 gets less but is faster than all others except possibly the GM 6.2, but it's more efficient than that engine.

Reliability on the new ones is better than the first gen Ecoboosts, but time will tell.

Yes. I bought an F-150 with the V-6 and wish I'd bought the 8. Truck is a bit under powered, and there's no savings on fuel consumption.
