Truckers, "Million Dollar Challenge"

Truck drivers doing the million dollar challenge is becoming a thing. Friend of mine did 10.5 years living in his company semi truck working for a major carrier. He started at age 22. He is now 33. He saved 1.35 mil. He bought a 360k house for 300k cash up front. He has now invested the remaining 1.05 million and I think he gets around 7% in his investment set up. It comes out to around 65k forever annually. He no longer drives over the road and drives 3 days a week a 1k per week. Home every night with a smoking hott 26 yr old woman to come home to and off weekends. Sounds like a plan? Yes!
FTR, I'm in year 8. Looking at 2.5 more years and I'll be around 1.4m projected. I'll be 38(i started at 27). Not a bad way to beat working for 40 yrs.

I’d rather have a hot wife and a house in my mid 30s without living in a truck for a decade.

That sounds like a solid plan

You don't have a place at all? You've been showering in nowhere else but truck stops for 8 years?
Kudos for the dedication.

That sort of a grind isn't for everyone but it's totally doable if you're willing to make that sacrifice. All of our drivers make pretty respectable livings and are home most nights/weekends as well.

I can't wait to be at my home every night. When I get out of my truck I go to my parents or my brother or sisters house when I need a weekend break.

Until that hot young wife divorces him in a couple years and takes the house and half that money

There are a lot of good hacks to where you don’t have to work some corporate job til 65. I highly recommend finding something that works for you.

Tbh, truck stop showers are pretty nice. Terminal locations have really nice shower rooms. They are all private rooms with a lavatory/toilet and walk in man made showers. Sometimes I miss a shower a day here or there but I'll always get one the next day. All of truck driver's fuel we put, we use our value card also for that fuel stop each time and it racks up mad points and those points you use to get free showers, parking spots, free coffee and free soft drink refills. The whole situation fits to basically live for free while you work. I only pay for groceries every two weeks and my phone bill. My car(just pay cheap liability ins, i never drove it)is paid off at it sits in the parking lot covered at my home base terminal.

It’s a grind but it definitely pays off if you can start in your early 20s

I don't want to live in a truck for a decade. But congrats to you.
I don't really understand this. Why not put down 100% in this situation?
