I wish truck drivers were confined to the right lane like in Europe.

One time driving through Alabama I was stuck behind two trucks matching speed for well over a half hour. I had enough and passed them on the shoulder.
Probably dumb but man I was pissed. If I had a brick handy I would have thrown it through that trucks windshield. It was so intentional.

I think truckers are the one job most people hope gets automated.
If they all just stayed in the right lane and didn't try to speed it'd be a lot better. I think we are ten years away.

It depends on which trucker you are made at - the truck being passed is the one to blame - if he is not going to drive the necessary speed, he should drop his speed by about 5 mph and let the overtaking truck pass by, then speed back up to 62 or whatever speed he is holding up traffic at.

Pig Pen, this here’s a Rubber Duck, we gonna clog that left lane up, 10-4.

Cause we got us a convoy trucking through the night,

Yeah, we got us a convoy, making Korkstand want to fight,

Convooooooy

Just kidding, drive I-70 and you’ll be outnumbered 20-1.

I gained a new respect for long haul truckers after I got my CDL. They have a job to do and I believe most of them are focused on that, and the ones that get frustrated with the civilians on the road probably have good reason

Yeh, let's ban truckers and starve to death.

Who said anything about banning them? You're about 5th person to suggest that they simply can't do their jobs without being assholes in the process.

why it's required to cut off a passenger vehicle before making a pass.
Is it possible that they let several other passenger vehicles go before finally making their move and you were simply late to the situation?

No, it was usually just me and trucks as far as I could see both directions. I watched this same situation develop and play out time after time for hours. They are either assholes or oblivious, and I'm not sure which is worse.

I was behind one yesterday in the left lane. We were both passing. He didn’t move over to the right, so when I got enough distance I loved right. There was a car in the right lane, but way in front. As I was passing this idiot, I actually saw him roll coals trying to speed up so I wouldn’t have room to get in front of him. First, he should have moved over into the right lane. Second, if he had enough arse left to punch it so I couldn’t get in front, he should have been using that to drive the speed limit in the first place.

They are a bunch of arseholes and I truly believe that there are a few good ones in the bunch of assholes as opposed to a few bad ones amongst a group of good ones.

Nobody but the truckers themselves will be upset when their job gets automated. Y’all act like we would all starve if truckers weren’t assholes. I can guarantee that guy passing me did not get me my food any quicker or cheaper than if he hadn’t done it. That’s just justifying a-hole behavior.

Give me a road full of truckers instead of pickup truck drivers any day. No bigger assholes on the road than dudes in pickups.

oh you just don't understand how the trucks handle

They don’t handle too terribly. I’ve had several on I22 jerk their rig over into the left lane in front of me, damn near dragging the Mansfield Bar across my grille, to get in the left lane to pass that rig going a half MPH faster. Then the idiot in the right lane holds it against the Governor instead of just letting the other truck pass. Then the race is on! To be settled 5 miles down the road while the road rage flares up behind them.

I hereby submit I have had way more problems with “ Bubba” in his 4 wheel drive jacked up truck
trying to push folks down the interstate because they are only doing 75 and Bubba wants to do 90 and act like he’s driving in a NASCAR race.
I have seen a lot more of this kind of stuff from those guys than from truckers.

No. They should be able to drive on the interstate anytime. But it should be mandatory they remain in the farthest right hand lane at all times and passing for them is illegal. It doesn’t slow down a truck that much if he can go 70 MPH and he’s stuck behind a truck governed to go 69.5 MPH.

Well we all know that automated trucking is on the way so in the not to far future it won’t be an issue anymore. We will have to start thanking Elon Musk for our groceries instead of a self important trucker.

shite. I love these guys. They clear the road of the highway patrol.

I let them pass doing 85-90… let them get out a ways… then match speed. Bubba in the big easy to see truck gets the ticket every single time.

You need these on I-10 across the FL panhandle.
