Still getting rain in Polk County. I feel for the people up where it is hitting land.

Hurricane Idalia came through there last year and eliminated all of the weak trees, and structures, so damage should be minimal.

Yes, we never lost any services here. Wind was never terrible. Some 40's and a few bigger gusts. Just rain. Lots of it. We are about to get a break for a while finally.

I'm in Tallahassee and it's shocking how easy it is being on the "good" side of a storm.

We have had one bad band, currently you wouldn't know there is a hurricane just off the coast

We were on the clean side of Ian and did not get the rain fall that most did. We are also on the dirty side of this one and the bands just seem to line up on us (North/south) and just keep on us for hours and hours.

Glad we didnt get the wind too

Anna Maria is flooded. That is going to be a expensive mess over there. I need to go check my shop which is a mile or so away from the coast but I probably wont today. That area got smashed. Lots of power lines and trees down according to the news.

The drive belt came off of my mower yesterday, just as a new rainhammer was getting here. I was stuck out back and pulled it to the garage with my truck.

No hurricane related issues. i am in The Green Swamp, and most of central FL would have to flood before my house got water in it.

Updated rainfall forecast.

This is from now through Saturday morning on top of what has already fallen.

Not good obviously. Good luck to everyone dealing with this.

I'm on the water near the skyway, not much flooding over here. Winds were pretty crazy last night, but no damage thankfully

Any updates on shore acres?

I would not doubt that the insurance 'lobby' makes sure the right 'incentives' are properly placed/donated...to insure those 'hurricane' deductibles are in place !

Does anyone have any reports of damage? I see that 268k are without power but cant find any reports on damage. Seems to be more of a rain event than wind.

Trying to decide if we (Here to Serve) should respond or wait in case there is another storm. Do any of our weather gurus think Debbie may be stronger after she enters the Atlantic and gets to Savannah or Charleston? Those are at the outer range of where we are comfortable going (8 hours from Tuscaloosa). Yesterday before storm made landfall I tried calling the church we setup at last year for Idalia (Madison Church of God) but have not been able to get through.

We are willing to go but dont want to get there and find that damage is minimal and we arent really needed. We dont want to waste food that might be needed somewhere else later during the season.

Any thoughts?

Having been to the Big Bend and Steinhatchee area many times that area has been hit hard the past few years. The Keaton Beach area is still recovering from last year....Thoughts to all the people there.

It's also right in the middle of scallop season there and that is a huge business in the Big Bend are.

Uneducated opinion from 2,000 miles away. I’d wait and see how the flooding is in Savannah or Charleston. That seems like a potentially bigger situation based on 20 inches of rain forecast.

Already have a decent amount of standing water on the roads by us...Lockwood and Fishburne. Starting to pool in Brittlebank Park. I'll post some photos over the next few days.

Jim Cantore is here, which can't be good. Stay tuned for lots of exaggeration.

We just got word from the paster at the church and he said they have faired pretty well so far. Not the amount of damage they had from Idalia. Probably because that storm removed the dead\weak trees.

Still waiting but we will probably wait to see about GA\SC.

If anyone else has a thought I would love to hear it.

Thanks!!

This fuxker looks like it’s stalling earlier than forecast. Will be interesting to see if the highest rainfall totals shift south and to the west

I'm in the 20+ inches area.

Rain hasn't been too bad yet, but it will pick up tomorrow.

Since some roads in downtown Charleston flood with just regular rain, it probably won't be good. Fortunately I'm able to telework so I won't have to live at my hospital through it all.
