The predicted MHHW king tide in Charleston tomorrow is around 10pm tomorrow. Predicted at 7.3 feet. With how much rain we’ll have had, onshore winds, and the pressure drop, it’s going to be near 2015 and 2017 levels of flooding if not slightly more. Will probably peak around 9-9.5 feet.

We know to blame you for this, UnluckyTiger.
I’m probably 5 minutes away from Sullivans , wondering how bad the flooding will get.
And yeah let’s take a look at my 5 years in Baton Rouge real quick:
2004-2009
Katrina
Rita
Humberto
Gustav
Ike
Ida
2020-2024 so far in Charleston:
TS Danny (don’t even remember this being much of anything)
TS Colin
Hurricane Ian
And now this
Only 4 storms between 2004 and 2020 to impact Charleston prior. And I’m not sure there was a more active storm stretch for Louisiana than that 2004-2009 run.

Should’ve been here in 1989… Hugo was no joke.

How much flooding do you think Mt. Pleasant will get? Was it bad in 2015 in Mt. P? I’ll probably be at the Southern
I’m sure the rumple will be flowing like wine at Dispensary
I’m glad I’m no longer walking distance to there. It’s like a Bogies for grown ups and I use that term loosely.

Yep, I’m walkable to Dispo also. Will be ripping several 2/4 rumples with the boys

Yeah I was at the Guild for a couple of years and felt like I was in a giant episode of Southern Charm. Folks downtown will find a reason to drink for anything and everything.

Rifle Range side or Old Village side? RR will be fine (I grew up there). Old Village side can be a bit dicey as you get closer to the marsh there. However, the center of old village is an old river bluff and is a bit higher in elevation though so if you’re there you’re good.

Should’ve seen the city when we shut down for the record snowfall of 4” in like 2015 Nothing open downtown except the bars for a week. Was wild.
No tourist, everyone drunk as shite, snowball fights in the bars, across streets, etc.

Love Dispensary, great outdoor area in the back.
Today seems to have been less intense than I think was expected, perhaps because it's slowed down more quickly than they thought?
We'll see tonight at high tide.
A little off topic, but Charleston baws, I started a Charleston Packer fan club and Container Bar has said they'll host us. Group is already up over 100 members and we should have some good and fun turnouts. I'll buy you fellas a beer.

Almost moved to Huntsville in 2018 for my job
Don’t think I’ll ever leave Charleston though, it’s a cleaner and nicer New Orleans with beaches. If I ever did move though, it would probably just be south to Florida.

I missed this earlier, but I think it is the first Flash Flood Emergency of Debby. It has a "Catastrophic" tag. Some areas may have gotten close to 20" of rain.
Unfortunately, we likely see more Flash Flood Emergency in the coming hours and days.

Major Hurricane Ida hit Louisiana 2021, the other Ida hit Alabama in 2009 with no impact on Louisiana.
Humberto was a cat 1 Texas storm.
Ike hit Galveston, had no impact on BR.
Rita, SW LA/TX had little or no impact on BR.
