What’s the limit on Lions?

You should really do some research on the amount of economic stimulus brought to the region from these trophy hunters. It is very counter intuitive that to protect a species, you need to have legal trophy hunting. However, you have to create an economic incentive for the local community to protect species that would otherwise be poached into extinction.
Rhinos are the most depressing example - I believe it was South Africa made hunting Rhinos illegal and poaching went through the roof. Finally, they reversed their stance when a millionaire who was raising Rhinos on a private farm (and still have his rhinos poached) challenged the law in court. Fascinating battle for the existence of a species. Rhino horn is one of the most valuable substances on Earth and you aren't going to change the beliefs of a couple billion people in Asia on its medical/spiritual properties.

These lions are captive bred specifically to be hunted, FYI.
So is there still any kind of challenge stalking it? Or are you basically paying to drive up to a lion and shoot it?

Can we do that with humans?

What if the person that shot him did so...just to hang him on HIS wall?
Then we have another Ed Gein on the loose.

Varies depending on the outfit. I watched a documentary recently where they killed farm-raised crocs....and the dude literally just walked up to it and blew it away. Guy was a total douche. In other places, they set the lions free within a fenced area (massive area) and you then hunt it as if it grew up wild.

Many do. Luckily I have cat like reflexes.

I’m fine with baw getting shot. Deer, ducks, etc are one thing but a trophy means you’re a fricking douche-chode with some sort of inner inferiority complex...

When the hunter becomes the hunted.

You put out Lion corn in the off season and they get accustomed to coming in to feed. Then when Lion season starts they come in to feed and you blow them away at the Lion feeder from your Lion stand.
Then its back to the Lion camp to keep drinking.

Wish this would have happened to that a-hole Walter Palmer a few years ago before he lured Cecil away from a protected sanctuary with raw meet tied to the hood of a vehicle, and then shot him once he was off the refuge.

If you kill lions, it better be for the greater good of lions in general. Trophy hunting for the thrill alone is just all kind of fricked up.

Not only are you clearly ignorant on conservation issues
Actually I would like to know the conservation reasons for shooting a "farm" raised animal as "sport".
Do they use these to thin the herd of other animals on the "farm"?

Fair enough. For what it's worth, I don't think the lion would care about you knighting for it while it ate you, so one could surmise that lions are assholes too.

There's a difference between a white tail deer and a bass, both of which are essentially innumerable in population and hunting them in your backyard and traveling to fricking Africa to hunt a lion to impress people. If you're not eating it, you probably shouldn't hunt it.
