I guess it’s because my Dad always taught me. Don’t shoot what you don’t intend to eat. Nothing wrong with putting a deer head on the wall because you are eating the meat. But killing a lion just for the hell of it? It just doesn’t sit well with me. Now if the population is out of control then rhat is different.

I cringe every time I see the term "big game hunter", it mostly all a big façade, nobody is hunting anything. I lived in Kenya where hunting is not allowed, but spent a lot of time in Tanzania where hunting is allowed. The hunting lodge guides know exactly where the animals are going to be at any given time of day even in a game reserve of almost 18,000 square miles, and this is in the wild in areas of mo. If you paid $20 grand for one large animal trophy they are not going to take you to the animal the first day, you get to drive around for days "tracking" when miraculously at almost the end of your trip they "find" your animal, once the animal is located, with the exception of the Cheetah, killing it has about the same level of risk and skill as required to kill a cow in a pasture. As yourself this question, have you every heard of someone going on a trophy hunt in Africa coming back empty handed.

I prefer for them to ship the animal to Texas and put it in a pen before I blast it. Don't have the want to go do it in Africa

Meh. I don't see any conflict between enjoying meat and thinking that trophy hunters have a personality defect.

We gave a buddy of mine a ton of shite for shooting a Giraffe. There isn’t exactly much sport in hunting the tallest fricking thing around for 50 miles. The hint he described was driving up to the giraffe in a Jeep and shooting it.

You would have thought he was in the bush stalking this thing and risking death the way he described it.
