I don’t know what the consensus is, but if you can work those days, or if you can make it up, you should. Snow days and such are for pussies.

I work offshore. Was supposed to go yesterday but flights canceled. Still getting paid. My relief has to stay obviously. Getting 1.59 rate for 12 hours a day. Kinda wish it was me locked up out there.

Snow days are days for drinking in front of the fire. I have an unwritten agreement with my employer that I don't work while drinking.

I'm self-employed, but I have enough self-respect to follow protocol.

If your employer is not paying you for a weather incident that is out of your control, that is a POS employer.

Those that missed work will have to use PTO at my job.

When I can control the weather and give them off for snow, THEN I'll start paying them. They're all welcome to use either PTO days or vacation days to make up the difference but are not required to come in at all this week if they're not comfortable driving in it.

We forgive the salaried folks the days and will give hourly folks 32 hours for the week. They can add up to another 8 hours of PTO to that to make up to a 40 hour week.

The salaried folks were “on call” during the week and actually did a bit of company work.

What is the consensus on folks getting paid for the time off due to the snowstorm ?

im not an hourly employee......yea i get paid and we did wfh where we answered emails and phone calls if needed. Ended up not having any to deal with though.

for Wife's business we did WFH. They are hourly and we make sure they are taking care of as they take care of us.

Use accumulated vacay, sick leave or take off w/o pay. And no advances on either!

Medical here. Never missed a shift. Employer gave bonus for the ones that came in. No bonus for ones that called out. They are also considered less effective so at best they only get a 1% annual raise for this year.
