Pears are damn good. Considerably juicer than an apple. There was something sensual about it. Similar to how a peach is often used in sexual metaphors.

Sound advice, it usually worked for me to be active.

If you’re in a halfway decent city go explore.

Sounds like you are not capitalizing on work travel.

What city are you in?

I just don’t understand why you are sitting in a hotel lobby. Why not find a restaurant bar to chill at with a drink and a good book? Or a sports bar and watch sports? Or uber to someplace you can just walk around at and explore and people watch? Hell....go see a movie somewhere if you are that bored.

I never get to travel for work. Got to go to San Antonio for a week for a training course a few years ago and treated the trip like a vacation cause I knew it was likely the only work trip I would take. I was never bored, only spent time in my room to sleep and get ready for the day, and the only time spent in the hotel lobby was at the bar relaxing with a glass of wine and my kindle.

I’ve never traveled much for work, but I enjoyed the hell out of it when I did. I scoped out where I was going and figured out places to see, eat at, and drink at.

If I was in a boring place I loved having a few nights to watch tv without kids running around me.

I’m trying to figure out what this guy does at home if this is boring

Most people just kind of hang out on the weekends and take it easy. If your current location is bad, then take a couple hour drive.

Going to California next month for training. Unlike the OP, when I’m out of training I will be enjoying life instead of sitting in a shitty hotel lobby being crabby.

With a location name and google I can find something interesting to do or see in about 5 minutes.

It’s pathetic that you’re here and not trying to break your masturbation record.

Wow! That is freakin’ cheap. Spill the beans and tell us who you used to work for...or at least what you did.

I used to travel for work conferences a few times per year. Sometimes, I had a great time by myself, but other times, I was lonely as hell.

I’m an outgoing person, but I would have mixed results in meeting other people. Sometimes, it was like talking to an old friend (and it got weird when I left after a couple of days), other times, it seemed like the world was full of losers.

I started to respond by suggesting that you go visit museums, historic places. and old churches. That’s what I liked to do. But the. I remembered that even those outings were either heightened or tainted by my mood.

I went to Charleston and visited Ft. Sumpter one time. The ferry ride was beautiful and the museum was excellent, but I still felt so lonely even when I made friends with a young couple on their honeymoon.

I love all the "I travel every once in a while for work and really embrace it." If I was traveling once or twice a quarter I could see how it would be enjoyable.

When you are traveling upwards of 50-75% of the time, that enjoyment fades rather quickly.
