You think that's bad. My company used to make us share hotel rooms on the road.

I have a 4 year old and 15 month old- I travel for business a few times a year, and it’s an odd feeling being in a quiet hotel room all by myself.

Why are you hanging out in the lobby?

Speak for yourself. I like traveling and living out of hotels. Can’t wait to get back out in the field.

Jesus you’re pathetic. I loved traveling for work. Lots of solo time

I already saw all of the sights this city has to see in the first week. There are a few more restaurants I need to check off the Yelp list, but I have to save something for Monday-Thursday this week.

Just noticed the bowls of fruit on the lobby table have shifted from bananas and apples (a staple for my first 5 days here) to pears and oranges. I'm about to eat only my second pear ever.

When I traveled there was always something to do on weekends if I bothered to look, and I saved money unbelievably because everything was on the company.

But why the lobby?

You can do whatever you’re doing now from a bar. Hell, I’m sitting at a bar by myself typing this right now

The change of scenery is way more mentally stimulating than sitting in the lobby. Or in my case, in my living room.

I traveled well over 100 night a year for work when I was young. While it was hard being away from my family, it’s nothing like it is now in my 50’s and having to be away.

My solution is alcohol

Very true. And depending on where you travel for work, you can even buy one and the cartridges instead of packing it.

It is, when I used to do it there was absolutely nothing worse in the world than going to Church with your family on Sunday then coming home and packing up and heading out to get on a plane or make long drive to be on site for Monday.

Go hit up a gym. It’ll get rid of the semi depressed feeling.
