What's the construction on Hwy 22 by the McDonalds for?
But shouldn't the fact that these drivers have probably driven over this bridge multiple times make them realize that there is no reason to slow down?

They already tried to fix this by extending the I-12W on-ramp. It’s about a mile long now but it doesn’t seem to help. There is also the merging of traffic from 190 north and south before you get to the on-ramp.
They should really widen the interstate there and also have two on-ramp lanes (one coming from 190N, and one from 190S) and use those alternating lights to control the flow.

I drive the opposite driection on Fridays... Sometimes that shite is backed up all the way down the causeway to 610, maybe further.

Wait till that first redlight after I12 gets activated.
You’ll have 2 lanes of stacked traffic instead of 3 so it’ll back up dinner and with fewer capacity. Cars gon be pushed back to 22 during rush hour.

You’re close. There needs to be two lanes turning/merging from 190 onto 12 West and three lanes exiting from 12 East traveling to 190 North and South. Two lanes traveling north, one traveling south.
They could have just done this and made everything 50% more efficient.

Today I had to deal with slow going at da' base of the Causeway, and I-12 is accident free from Mandeville to Slidell, and from Slidell to the state line.

I got heavy duh lays from da base of duh toll plazas from the West Bank to the east bank, and from the east bank to duh West Bank. Heavy volume from the Bonne Carre spillway intuh Kenner, and and accident wit injury on Carrondolet at Felicity.

Just like Baton Rouge, the infrastructure can’t accommodate the amount of people that live in the area. I can’t imagine making that commute everyday.

Metairie has sound barriers because thousands of people live on an eight-lane expressway with no natural buffers like trees and actual distance. There’s not nearly as much of that in western STP.

I think the difference between our traffic and Baton Rouge traffic is, ours moves. Rarely are you ever parked for any length of time where nothing moves. It’s always moving. Baton Rouge has gridlock that institutionalizes people.
