I really like the new 2024 GX550. May get one of those instead of a new X5M.

Loved the new GX. But I hated that I couldn’t get all the off-road tricks with a third row. If the LC solves that I may end up with it or I’ll just swap my old 17 GX for a new one and add the stuff I want like I did the last one.

Looks like a knock off Land Rover.

It’s basically a Prado.

4Runner is redundant if they don’t shrink it.

They should send 4runner back to its roots as an off roader. Give us a 2 and 4 door removable top that competes with Wrangler and Bronco. Tell me it wouldn't sell.

Looks like a more modern 80 series, the profile view I can see the iconic look. Very classic boxy look.

Here's a walk through of the base model 1958 edition. LINK

I'm a fan, only concern is the engine choice, but Toyota has been doing hybrids for years with the nickel-metal hydride battery.

Fugly IMO. And they’ll want $90K for it.

Toyota confirmed the base model will be $55k. Higher trims shouldn't be more that $10-15k unless it's a super-duper special edition version.

Hybrid only in the United States.

Paired with a high pressure 4cyl.

I'd be highly suspect for that powertrain lasting 25 years.

Really like the look though.

4th gen 2006 4runner at 290k miles. Still the best model they've ever released IMHO. We've had 3rd, 4th, and 5th.

No… this is the best generation. Still timeless IMO.

It wouldn't, that's why you don't see many of these options outside of specialty remakes (like the Bronco).

There is for sure a niche market, but that niche market just isn't that large.

The GX will definitely be the more striking version (as it should) but I’m excited that Toyota is finally giving us a more value-based LC w/ classic elements in addition to a more upscale version. Outfitters & tuners will love this

Was hoping it would be a more bare bones version of the GX revealed a few weeks ago.

Uhh….they are offering a bare bones version

Enjoy your 2 trim options

To each their own, but I see this as being a great thing. It repulses me when American car companies offer a ridiculous amount of trim levels meant to jack-up the price. The previous LC had very few options as well.

I like the side and rear design. Grill/front bumper ain’t great…especially where the fog lights are. Overall, I would drive it, but like everyone else I’m very confused about where this leaves the 4Runner. Makes me want to go trade my Grand Cherokee on a 4Runner because I think this last generation will be sought after and looked back upon fondly.

Agreed. I think that’s the 3rd Gen. That’s the best, most reliable ones IMO. The 4th Gen was my least favorite, and it annoys me that its the only ones that have an optional V8.

I have a 2021 TRD model. I have decided that I like some versions of the new LC, but not enough to trade my still new 4Runner in earlier than expected. I will probably get either the LC or the GX in 7-10 years.

But somebody is right. This is what the 4Runner probably should be.

Nah, the next Gen 4Runner will be “right-sized” & smaller…based on new Tacoma, where it should be.

Biggest disappointment is the No option tripple whammy powertrain of 4-cylinder, turbos and hybrid. Just more stuff to fail....

For starting at $55k+ give me the GX or Sequoia, with the latter looking the best of the 3.

As far as this LC - You can almost guarantee that there will be additional variants in the future. The TRD Pro equivalent and the overlanding equivalent are both certainly coming. I hope it has the round headlights as that’s my preference. I really like the first edition model. I loathe the powder blue paint in the press photos though. That + the white top doesn’t translate well to the new designs IMO.
