Oof. My LC is 20 years old with 160k on the clock and runs better and smoother than my wife’s 4 year old Chevy. 150k is nothing to these things If maintained.

Got a ‘16 over the summer. Has 60k on it. The thing makes absolutely zero noise. No rattles or any weird noise at all. The build quality is fantastic. It’s a hair bigger than the 4Runner we got rid of but we knew that already. Plan to pass it on to the kid when she heads to college Sad to see the 300 not in America if the repot is true.

Yep this will be my oldest ride when he gets of age. Hopefully by that time I can find a heritage that will be my new truck. Look I’ve done 4 runners too, and they’re great..... but they ain’t cruisers. Now that you got one you understand. It’s just not the same.

i have a 2007 100 series with 170k miles on it. bought it a few years ago at 140k miles on it.

It is by far the best vehicle i have ever owned. I can drive it anywhere.

I eliminated the ahc and put a ome lift on it with larger wheels and tires.

the only issue i have had is the total brake failure, which was fixed with a reman brake assist motor.

I know i will get 300k - 400k miles out of it.

This was a 2010 with 120k miles on it, and had had every single recommended service done on it. Wife and I went and test drove it, and she just couldn't get past the mileage/age on it. She did later admit she was wrong and we should have bought it. I told her we won't find that good of a deal again.

Ouch. With all service done on time, you’re looking at 300 to half a million miles before major work. I’d twist her arm a little harder next time lol.

Only because they still won't import a freaking 70 Series to the U.S.

I wish. Thing is after they would sell the initial batch to guys like us, the market would probably run dry after a few years. People say they want a bare bones do it all land cruiser, but I don’t see it. Even though the 4 runner doesn’t have the big D energy a LC has, the TRD pro will come with all the gizmos and electronics that soccer moms want for a price similar to a 70 series. 50k for old school, manual transmissioned, work horse, or for a mall crawler with air conditioned floor mats or some such? We ain’t gonna win that one.

I have a 100 series (LX470) that I love, but would ditch it in a heartbeat for a 70 series...especially if they sold a diesel. Offer an HJ75 and see how quickly I would empty my bank account.

I have a 1997 LX 450 (an LC fj80 with more sound insulation for less noise and softer springs) with 73k miles on it. I have owned it since 2013 when it had 68k miles. I plan to fix it up (new paint, new front and rear bumpers, small lift, bigger tires), but haven't done it yet with a divorce and all the other obligations that just keep coming. Can't wait to get it done and keep it until one of us dies.

Oh I hear you. But we are few and far between. Just think after initial run on 70 series here the numbers sold would drop biggly.

Yep...plus the changes they would have to make to conform to NHSTA rules wouldn't be insignificant.

That cannot be stated enough.

LC has Been a dream ride for a while. It’s the wife’s but she wants a rack and small lift. OME bp51 looks it. I’d kill for an 80 right now for me. But like everyone says, Prices are insane right now

OK brah. I was talking about gumbo swamp mud that we have down in LA. That mud has rocks under it!

The LC is almost 6K lbs and not ideal for mud offroading. it is very capable on rocks.

Does anyone really change the timing belt/water pump every 90k miles on the old 4.7 L engine? What’s the longest you’ve seen it stretched out? 110-120k miles? More? I know it’s an interference engine so you are screwed if it fails, but I’ve never heard of a failure.

I do. Mine had over 100k on it when swapped out. (Second belt). Honestly it looked like it could go a lot longer. Not chewed up and was in pretty good shape. Water pump too tbh. This really is the only Achilles heal with the 100 series anyway. If the belt goes you end up havIng a grenade going off internally. But I’ve never seen one fail and a few guys on ih8mud have seen 150k plus on a belt. After 07-08 they went to chains if I recall correctly.

I changed it in my old Tundra at 120k, but my brother inlaw ran his Sequoia over 300k and never changed it.

No, I'm stretching to 110-130k on all of that.

I have a 1998 FJ100 4.7 L with 351k miles doing just fine, thank you. Still a street vehicle. Haven't yet converted to off-road.
