Towing with Nissan Pathfinder

My daughter (no photos) and son-in-law want to buy a Nissan Pathfinder and intend to tow a 6000 pound toy (boat + trailer weight). I told her that they are nuts mainly because it has a CV transmission in it. She says the Pathfinder is towing rated at 6000 pounds. I explained to her that her “toy” is 6000 pounds Dry. Once you load it down with fuel and other equipment you will be Significantly above that “rated towing capacity number”. I also told her that I would not tow anything with a vehicle that has a CV transmission. Right now they are towing with a 4 Runner but claim that it feels like the boat/trailer is driving the vehicle instead of the other way around. (Which I completely understand). Any recommendations n alternatives that would be more applicable to her intentioned use. I recommended a used Tundra with the bullet proof 5.7L V8. What say y’all?

For 6k lbs they will need at least a 1 ton dually, probably in F450 territory.

1. The 2021+ Pathfinders DO NOT have a CVT transmission

No way is this safe. That's very heavy.

Yeah, PR can’t stop half that weight. My 24’ bayboat is all over want behind my f150 on flat ground.

The pathfinder is no longer a cvt?
The motor and transmission isn't the issue.
The soft suspension and p metric tires are the problem.
If this were an Xterra or frontier, I'd tow it without thinking.
Edit, a new armada will tow that effortlessly.
Or...they could beef up the suspension on the 4runner and put properly weight rated tires on it

They’re overweight now with the 4Runner and it’ll be no better with a Pathfinder.
