Use to drop by NOLA about once a month to have lunch in the quarter…stopped doing that because of random crimes and mischief.. could pay to park at a hotel instead of on the street.. but not worth the effort.. love the Nola feel in the quarter .. but pretty much done with it.. when my mil passes I imagine we will be done going there..

You’re obviously in the know with the Convention Center. Wouldn’t the current and future renovations stifle some of the conventions? I’d expect once they finish renovating and building out the corridor near Mardi Gras World, convention business will boom again.

The next couple years aren’t bad. Next years better. The year after is better than that.

This year was just a swing and a miss on a bunch of programs, paired with some bad luck on how various rotations scheduled (ie if a program comes every 3 years or every 4… this was a coincidental off year for quite a few) and a handful of programs pulling out

wonder how much longer it's gonna be before teedy's handlers have bought up everything and want to start turning a profit?

It is usually slow every summer as it is hot & muggy. New Orleans, has never been a summer destination. Minus the 1 yr of the World’s Fair and the time Pontchtrain Beach was in operation there really no summer activities.

The below issues also helped to decline tourism to the city.
- excessive heat
- crime
- inflation is also slowing down people traveling to see the man who can tell you where you got your shoes at.

Is this a joke?

Have you not seen the record breaking airport numbers this year? People are traveling more than ever before.

It’s hot as balls and most of what’s fun to do in Nola is outdoors.
I agree that it’s been miserable outside with the heat but it’s also a lot safer indoors. There is a lot less chance of being a victim of crime staying indoors

NO’s “Treme” and “Girl’s Trip” fad has faded while the appeal of Austin, Denver, and Nashville have increased.

This year is the worst anyone has seen in awhile in a normal year. It’s been amazingly slow.

100%. Although few are willing to admit that.

It’s been a year since I’ve been to Nola. Usually visit 4-5 times a year. The crime and the Mayor have certainly put a damper on us spending a long weekend there. Have a conference in March so I’ll be back. The Mayor certainly seems like she has nothing under control and blames everyone else for her shortcomings.
