Sirens going off in Greenville, SC.

That storm that hit Clemson looks to have gone just north of campus. No word on damages or injuries yet.

MS power company employee here. Just got home. Thank you all who track and teach in these threads. I left my family and went 70 miles NE of them this morning to prepare for work. Follow these type of threads helps me keep them alert. I've done Harvey, Michael, and a few others, but spring storm season is the worse due to the randomness of where it hits.

Eh, not to get sappy, but thanks weather guys for keeping the info coming.

I was keeping up with this thread yesterday during the day. I got in yesterday evening and turned to TWC. I was getting better info here in this thread than TWC, so I turned my TV off and just kept up with the tornadoes here. Go figure

one of those long track bastards
that's a dandy name for them. I hate the sons a bitches.

I thought about it- those bastards- as I was heading out yesterday evening when the coast was mostly clear to check out the flooding damage on my property, and I heard that growling, mean bitch from across the way and through the pines where I couldn't see her except for the darkening clouds. And even though the coast was mostly clear, I still shuttered thinking about the "what if's" because it's April in Mississippi and the conditions are still ripe and what lies behind that treeline in that cloud and what it could burp out this time of year.

They're bastards, no doubt.

@NWSColumbia

THIS IS A PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS SITUATION. TAKE COVER NOW! AT 537 AM EDT, A CONFIRMED LARGE AND EXTREMELY DANGEROUS TORNADO WAS LOCATED 7 MILES SOUTHWEST OF WILLISTON.

Not a tweet someone wants to see at 530 in the morning. Doesn't affect me, just happened to see it.

Had a two-fer here in Aiken County not long ago. Two side by side and then a third one spun up the next county over at the same time. (Barnwell County)

Just an insane night.

I believe there are actually 3 tornadoes very close together on the ground there. You can see three debri fields. Early morning outbreak in Carolina.

Yeah, there were 2 in Barnwell County and one in Aiken County. A fourth actually was very short-lived in Bamberg County but all 4 were visible in the same small radar shot.

Looking at radars it looks like the two around Livingston actually merged into one very large tornado now.

Yeah the wind woke us up here in Northeast Columbia around 5am.

Probably going to get a weather radio at some point. especially since we have an upstairs apartment now.

This seems to be the overall opinions that posters here have of TWC.

The days of TWC being a 24/7 weather channel are long over. Given their love for storm stories, they're an "entertainment" channel more than a weather channel. And as has been mentioned by many what weather they carry can't be trusted for their continuous awfulizing.

I got into an internet discussion with TWC a couple of years ago about them calling themselves "The hurricane authority". I contended that they relied on the NHS data; that they were a hurricane reporting agency, nothing more.

I sent them an email accusing them of plagiarizing the work of the NHS. I didn't expect an answer, but it must have struck a nerve; they replied, and the discussion was on.

I don't watch them enough to know for certain if they still claim to be "The Hurricane Authority" or not, but I haven't seen the claim recently.

Round O got the worst of it.

Everything west of Charleston of Charleston is basically on high alert until 8 am.

And my power just went off 3 times.
