Nah I’m in the same boat as you, just a space under the stairs. Neighbors have a basement if one of those long track bastards got within range, though, and I wouldn’t hesitate to wake them up.

I think I'm gettin' a shelter. We're in our "forever house" at this point. Time to pull the trigger.

Every spring my wife renews the “we are moving to a house with a basement” rant. She didn’t grow up with a tornado season like this

I do the classic stand outside and admire God’s fury act that my dad always did and she loses it

My wife just goes to bed and figures it'll pass. Waaaay more interested in her sleep.

I do this, too. She probably is hoping lightning will pop me so she can collect the insurance money.

I’ve got family all over the state who have lived through actual on the ground shite over the years so I don’t this lightly but it also doesn’t panic me any. I’ve learned that if you prepare and take proper precautions, you’ve got a 90% chance of living through it assuming anything even touches down in the immediate area. Happy to let her sleep through it but someone in every household tonight should be up and monitoring

Yeah, I agree. I stay anxious. I've been on edge all day and just trying to give me concern away so my kids wouldn't be too worried. Eventually I had to go over what we may have to do later, so then they kinda got it.

That's a good way to look at it. Be prepared is the boy scout motto for a reason.

Eatonton appears to have had a back end tornado pop up with some 80 mph winds. Not going to bed until this system clears entirely, even when the obvious stuff passes it’s staying ornery

You're right. Even when you have one moving toward you, the chance that you're in the direct path is still generally low. That said, I'm happy to be the "on duty" guy in these things. She wouldn't have a clue what to be watching and I've always found these threads on the OT are quite informative.

Big THANK YOU to all of the contributors today, btw!

Absolutely! I'm just glad to know I'm not the only one up at 3:30am on a Monday morning.

We're getting some really heavy rain right now, btw.
