So in the top right pic is the purple the tornado and the blue a debris field?

That's the one I've been watching, they're heading for another intercept.

There's an Intercourse, Alabama.
Years ago, one of these tornado warnings generated the timing impact for certain communities, including Intercourse.
The weather girl on TV started reading off the names of the towns, none of which anyone has heard of, outside that particular county. Then she gets to Intercourse. She brushes off that community name by saying, "and other areas". LoL

Yeah I could see Warrior perhaps...but again if it takes a right turn that might change my thoughts.

Not sure about that, unless it jogs to the right at some point, looks to skirt the northern suburbs with its trajectory perhaps of this holds together. Just my gut from seeing these tracks before, on this particular cell.

That dude didn't learn his lesson when he almost got killed to death by storm surge?
That was intense watching it live and hearing the fear in those two dudes voices and not knowing if they lived or we just watched their final minutes.

two very large tornadoes on the ground in S Miss
Posted on 4/12/20 at 4:16 pm to AUriptide
Somebody needs to get some links for those two tornadoes in south Mississippi. One of the cuplets looks to be a massive tornado. Spann just mentioned a tornado emergency has been issued down there.
Posted on 4/12/20 at 4:16 pm to 50_Tiger
Those two found themselves in an area with some low level CAPE and actually got to take advantage of the atmosphere

Anyone know someone in Bassfield? Might wanna call them. It just ran over that town

No, the top right pic is showing you wind speeds. Blues and reds are moving different directions. The brighter they are, the higher the speeds the radar is detecting. Wind moving at high speeds in different directions very close together is a signature of a tornado. If you're a radar looking at a tornado, the left side winds (from your vantage) should be moving toward you and the right side should be moving away due to the rotation of the storm. When you see that kind of differential velocity and it's high, that's a good bet that you have some violent rotation going on. Still, it may be just be a funnel cloud or rotation in the air that isn't affecting the ground.
The debris ball would be seen on the correlation coefficient scan in the lower right. That scan is a measure of how much everything the radar sees looks "similar" in terms of the return signal the radar is picking up. When you start getting some strong signatures on a correlation coefficient scan, it's telling you that the radar is seeing something in that area that looks way different from the other stuff nearby. So, rain will look different from a flock of birds and the radar can detect that they are two different types of phenomena. If you see big bright returns on the correlation coefficient scan at the same place you see high velocity winds real close to each other, it's a decent indication that you've got a tornado (high velocity winds moving in different directions and close to each other) throwing debris up into the air (stuff the radar is seeing that looks way different from the wind and rain around it).
