I don’t like speaking in broad terms because it paints an incorrect picture

For instance, if you are 10 or younger it is something like 25x less deadly. It doesn’t appropriately reflect the actual risk. 16% of deaths are 65 and younger 6% of deaths are under 55

As far as risk assessment goes on a statistical level it is less deadly and less dangerous than the flu unless you are 65 or older

For perspective. That means that it is less dangerous and deadly than the flu for 85% of Americans and significantly more deadly for 15% of Americans

COVID is much less deadly than the flu. Keep in mind the COVID deaths are fudged 2x. First, they are counting many many (if not majority) of deaths that were not due to covid as covid deaths. Second, asymptomatic people are not accurately reflected in the stats because most are not going to be tested. Up to 90% of the cases are going to be asymptomatic and when adjusting for this the mortality rate plummets.

I’m as anti lockdown as anyone on this site and doubt the states numbers as much as anyone else so take this next comment with that in mind.

According to the CDC data of deaths that have been categorized by age, 20.2% of deaths are under the age of 65 and this is trending downwards.

That actually skews younger than the typical seasonal flu season (more like 19%), and given that flu infections appear (since total COVID infections still uncertain) to skew younger, this actually indicates that it may be even deadlier for those under 65, relative to the flu (which is obviously much less deadly for those younger), than those 65 and over. At the very least, it’s similarly deadlier (again relative to the flu).
