Went there and the woman at the desk said it would be a 4 hour wait. Immediately turned around and all I can do is hope that it will cool down in popularity within the next 6-8 months. I’ve been to the Houston one and it was awesome. At least Baton Rouge got one thing it wanted on it’s christmas list.

First comparing the DFW market to BR is silly. They are two different markets.
How long will it take for it to turn a profit?
Yes in other larger markets it makes sense. Courses are suffering in Louisiana. After the sheen wears off, this will suffer too.
My personal opinion is that TG is expanding quickly on purpose. Get as much money as they can by expanding far quickly. Sell off land once it goes south. Solid game plan to be honest. Enjoy it. I’ll be on the courses or at the range.

Went there Saturday night. Have a corporate account so we reserved 3 booths. Good food. Good drinks. Something different in the city for a change

Exactly. This is the point of a place like Top Golf- corporate use and why in a market like DFW it makes more sense, way more visitors. The layman won’t continuously pay to play there for years. Corporate clients in BR will eventually tire of repeatedly being brought there. Bottom line: Great for BR short term.

Geez who jizzed in your oatmeal?? it's not a place to take golf so freaking seriously. it's been a pretty successful business plan in places it's at. If it fails it's more on BR than Top Golf.
Yes it's good for corporate outings, but also another safe option for kids, a date, a team building outing, or just a random "we're bored what can we do for a few hours?" kind of place.
Simmer down negative nancy, and be happy there's a business like it willing to invest it's solid brand name in BR.

Where did I compare them? I simply asked a Dallas resident if the TG in Dallas stays busy. Nothing more.

FYI, Houston has 2 Top Golf locations and has for over a decade. Do Better Baton Rouge, stop voting Democrat

The funny thing about this poor troll job, and I don’t even golf much, is that a lot of your better courses are exactly like this in that they only charge $25-50/ hour for range time. There’s a dude that sets up the balls at each space. The days of filling your basket are mostly just on the low end courses.

Top Golf isn't meant to cater to serious golfers. I don't know why this is so hard for people to understand. It's a social type of place that features a driving range

No troll, but I didn’t see the need to wait two hours to hit a handful of balls AND pay a large sum of money to do so.
I kindly explained how most driving ranges worked, and even suggested during off times they have a trial period for the kids before being forced to commit to hourly charges. I don’t point out problems without solutions. They were just refused to even attempt to find a fix. I even brought a set of clubs for them to use so we shouldn’t be forced to pay whatever the part of the price was to use their clubs. Very unreasonable. The manager couldn’t even give me an itemization of the hourly rate and how each part comprised it’s sum.
A lot of people obviously enjoy their model. I however will not be back.

Which may be the reason Top Golf sold it to investors. It will do great in BTR for a few years.
The ones in Houston do seem to do well even after all these years. Coporate offices may only have am outing once a year there so it's not like it'll be overdone.
It's like going bowling but with Gold clubs. Sit and wait watching games on TV with a cold beer. I don't understand wanting to hit balls the entire hour. If you want to do that go to a driving range
