That doesn't make any sense. The kid was the one yelling the "n word", not Spell.
I’m pretty sure I heard “I’m gonna break your neck” as the pastor approached from the street.

Dad sounds like a real peach.

If Sherwin had a grudge against Life Tabernacle, he certainly got his chance for payback during the pandemic in 2020. Sherwin made known his opposition to Rev. Tony Spell’s decision to continue holding church services. Not long afterwards, he was contacted by the FBI. According to an interview Sherwin did with French television, the FBI asked him to allow the use of his property to set up a surveillance system over Life Tabernacle.
In the video, Sherwin said the cameras collected the facial data of everyone attending church and their license plate numbers.
quote:
As the surveillance of Life Tabernacle began, Sherwin gained the attention ,of church members as he stood in his driveway shouting obscenities at those arriving and departing from church.
Soon the congregation was reporting that Sherwin would also stand in his driveway grabbing his crotch and making vulgar hand gestures. He seemed to relish his vile performance for unaccompanied women. Rev. Tony Spell said some of the women in the congregation were so disturbed at Sherwin’s vulgarity that they never came back to the church.
Church members witnessed Sherwin grabbing his crotch and flipping off members hundreds of times. Sherwin often did that in full view of his wife and in some instances while standing next to Central Police officers.
Rev. Tony Spell’s wife, Sister Shaye Spell said Tuesday that Scott Sherwin continues his vulgar gestures toward her even today. “Every time he sees me, he grabs his crotch and raises his middle finger at me. It’s very disturbing.”
Rev. Spell said he and church members called the Sheriff’s office during the pandemic to report Sherwin’s behavior. The pastor also called about other offenses against the congregation, such as a gunshot through a window in one of the buses. When he spoke to Sheriff Sid Gautreaux, the sheriff said he wasn’t going to do anything. “Pastor, I came out and told you when this started not to have church. Cease and desist! No, I can’t send anyone out there,” Pastor Spell reported him saying.
So the people upholding the First Amendment were denied ordinary law enforcement protection by the Sheriff.
In his interview with French television, Scott Sherwin was asked what he would like to see done about Life Tabernacle. He was quick to say he’d like to take care of the problem with a Kalashnikov, which is a semi-automatic weapon generally known in the United States as an AK-47.

Today, I learned there are people who actually believe the person on the left is getting attacked.
The image necessarily makes more sense in the context of the video.

Looking on Google Maps, looks like that house or addition was built between June 2018 and April of 2019. Weird way to position that house. The most recent street view is from Jan 2025 and that huge gate wasn't up yet but those god awful lamps on both sides of the driveway were there.

You’re retarded!!! You don’t know, nor does anyone outside of this area realize the day in, and day out torment the church has had to put up with from that family!!! They are filth, fricked up people!! I wouldn’t put it past them one bit to have been begging for that to have happened so they can sue civilly for a paycheck to buy more of that good shite!!
What I do know is on video. There is evidence.
Show me the video - or any evidence - of alleged threats from the kid toward the grease head.

That’s bc it was added on supposedly by the FBI to monitor the church. Not sure if that is true or not, but that’s rumor around here
ETA: Pretty sure they couldn’t afford to have put on that addition by themselves, plus I know for a fact they found cameras across the street from the church on blackwater rd that where pointed at the church right after covid.

He sure is working hard to defend a person who was allegedly yelling racial slurs and threatening to rape and kill innocent people.
Besides all the rest.

Legally it's not. Morally (especially in his position) it's not. Practically, depending on the details, I might understand.
So, if someone is threatening to kill and/or rape your family members you think God wants you to just take it on the chin because you think that’s the moral thing to do.
Call the cops? Did that and nothing, which is why this came to a boil.
That twenty year old shot his mouth off to a grown man and got exactly what he deserved. This should happen a lot more often not less and a lot of things will work themselves out these days in being respectful.

Louisiana pastor beats up a man who allegedly threatened to r*pe and kill his wife and grandchildren.
Pastor Tony Spell of Life Tabernacle Church says he was working on a church bus when the neighbor's son started shouting at him.
Spell said that it is his job as the natural protector to protect his church and family.
"He said, 'Tony, I'm gonna r*pe your wife, I'm gonna r*pe all of your grandchildren,' and he said, 'The next time you go out of town, I'm gonna kill them, and what the F are you going to do about it?" Spell said.
The neighbors, the Sherwin family, claim Spell is not telling the truth, but during a press conference, Spell was backed by members of his church who say they've made multiple complaints about the Sherwin family to police.
Spell's attorney says the Sherwin family has "a large, industrial-scale camera that could see from across the street all the way into the pulpit."
Spell was hit with multiple misdemeanor summonses in 2020 during the COVID lockdowns when he refused to close his church.
"The Central City police are friends with these folks across the street. When Pastor Spell was being surveilled 24/7, it was with the help of the man across the street," Spell's lawyer said.
The pastor was reportedly arrested and booked for second-degree battery.
