Yeah, he was talking with the lady who pays out cash at the end of the shifts and that's who told him approx how much they make...he would get 400-500 cash every shift. You still tight with C4? Do those annual numbers sound right to you?

Yeah
Back when I was out there a lot, that's about what I figured they were making based on the people coming through. Don't think it is quite as busy now as it was a couple years ago

Every year one or two people drown on the Amite while Tiki Tubing. It really amazes me how nothing has been done yet. They'll be open again next weekend shipping more people down the river. It makes you wonder if they care at all about the people or if they are only worried about the money.

First of all condolences to the family.

This comment is asinine. It's called personal responsibility. I've had a friend die on that river, he was one of the greatest people I've ever met and the world is a lesser place without him, but he himself made some bad decisions.

Nothing good ever comes from tubing. Whether its on the river, or driving to and from

They used to make between 2 and 3 million every tubing season a fews back, not sure if they still rake that in

That doesn't surprise me at all. And yeah, I don't know if they're still as busy as they used to be, but back when I went, they were always packed.

I've only been tubing a couple times on the Bogue Chitto and it wasn't remotely dangerous either time...it was very shallow where we were. That said, people are inviting trouble by continuing to go out on the Amite. Especially when they can't freaking swim.

Yeah, I've tubed the Bogue Chitto 5 or 10 times and it was pretty chill every time we went. And there were times when we'd literally be the only group on the water (like during the week). It was awesome.

sounds like a lot of the 'danger' from tubing comes from avoidable stupidity, whether it's diving head first into shallow water or goign tubing in rough water when you can't swim well. Tragic nonetheless.

I don't completely disagree with you, but to be honest the Bogue Chitto isn't the Amite...Amite is much more dangerous.

We would go to the Bogue Chitto just because it is cleaner and less muddy. Much nicer beaches when you take the trip in MS.

Who knows, but I assume they could remove trees (or get approval to do so) if they wanted to. I assume they'd legally have to get permission/permits to do so since it's not their property (I don't believe it is anyway), but I can't imagine someone not letting them do that if they wanted to. But that being said, I doubt they'd want or care to.
