thats really what you got from that?
Im not specifically talking about myself. When I went, I wasnt the driver. Ill admit our driver had a few on the river. He wasnt drunk but he wasnt passing a BAC test either. I stayed relatively sober because I didnt really know the group we were with as a whole and I didnt want to be sloppy drunk on a strange river.
It isnt worth it for a number of reasons to me.

I went on some random river in Mississippi and sliced my foot wide open on a broken bottle underwater. I was with a bunch of dumb girls and they freaked out about it. Had to rip a towel and tie it around my foot for the rest on the 2hr long ride to get out. After that, I had to carry a fricking canoe for these girls to the car, and wait another 2 hours before I got to the hospital. 12 stitches later I was all fixed up.
These tubing companies do zero maintenance and cleaning of the rivers, and IMHO, they should be required to spend a good chunk of their money cleaning to keep their licenses

Sounds like the one operating the Amite is run by scumbags exploiting stupidity. The company that operates the Bogue Chitto where I've gone is very responsible and its a safe, clean route.

needs to bring his niece out there also

What I got from it was that between getting hurt on the river (could that be alcohol related, or just in general?) and then getting busted driving home drunk, you think it isn't worth it. But those are both fairly easily avoidable.

And that's a good tactic, moreso because you didn't know the river more than anything.

Right, one of which is the potential DWI on the way home.

I noticed that also when I was out there. The river was dirty and all the trash balls on the inner tubes just threw shite in the water like it was nothing. I wasnt putting my feet down in water where I couldnt see the bottom.
The whole ordeal just screamed out white trash to me

Never done TT
I've been to Bogue Chitto Tubing in Bogalusa the last 2 summers and was impressed they ran a trash boat each time.
They also kept trash cans on the more popular picnic sandbars.
All are not like TT.

It is pretty trashy, and when I went I saw some people littering as well, and it pissed me off.
And I would never put my foot down on that river without some sort of protection on my feet...I can't imagine how disgusting the bottom of that river looks in some spots.

I've only been tubing a couple times on the Bogue Chitto and it wasn't remotely dangerous either time...it was very shallow where we were. That said, people are inviting trouble by continuing to go out on the Amite. Especially when they can't freaking swim.
I've never been to Tiki only Wayne's World and Bogue Chitto tubing.

damn...that first pic is smokin

whether it's diving head first into shallow water or goign tubing in rough water when you can't swim well. Tragic nonetheless.
went with a guy who was a lineman for Southern. He was like 300 pounds and in a vest.
He fell asleep and we woke him to tell him a snake was near him. I swore he ran on the water he swam so fast away from the snake.

So, Tiki Tubing should now clean up a natural waterway? And prevent natural acts of God too? Like flooding, too fast of a current, underwater debris, etc?
Its a fricking river. People would be fricking around in it, whether Tiki Tubing existed or not. Been that way pretty much since time began.

But keeping it up would make for a better experience. Seems short sighted not to.

The dwi is very easily avoidable. Duh.
Getting hurt can happen sober. And who wants to ride down a dirty arse river on a tube and not have a few beers? The scenery isnt anything to write home about. The water and trash in the river is gross. Unless youve got some good looking girls in bikinis with you, I dont see the reason for me to make a 45-60 minute drive to go tubing.

nice backhanded comment. (i think)

Whats so funny about that? Its a huge risk and Im saying this because the cops know what youve been doing on the river when you leave. Its not like just randomly getting pulled over after having 3 beers at a restaurant. Same as the cops hanging out around the Bulldog on Wednesday nights.
