What are this boards thoughts on the term “reach out” or “reaching out” to mean contact/talk to/communicate with?

Yes, I use it all the time at work, but only at work. If I am talking about talking to a friend, I might say "I'll call....", or "I'll have a chat with....".

I fricking hate corporate speak, and I lose respect for anyone who uses it.

I feel the same way about people who constantly use vulgarities as intensifiers. The use of “grown arse man” is particularly lame.

if you are hanging up then you aren’t listening any longer.

This comes from radio call-in shows, so yes, when you hang up you’re still listening to the radio.
It has come to mean “I rest my case.”

I don't have a problem with it. Not sure why some of y'all get hung up on things like this.

That’s the buzzword that physician recruiters use. Makes me cringe

As long as I don’t have to reach out across the aisle to leverage my core competencies, I’ll just stick with the low hanging fruit.

I consider that, a scalable best practice.

That term is used frequently in law enforcement, especially in the context of conducting an investigation.
