The idea that you can just rely on flouride in water to have healthy or even somewhat healthy teeth, is insane. You have to brush your teeth if you want to keep them healthy, so why do we need flouride in water?

This doesn't even get into calcium fluoride (good) vs sodium fluoride (toxic) and sodium fluoride is what they put in the water.

I was listening to the Darkhorse podcast / Brett Weinstein... couldn't tell you which episode as it was at least 3 or 4 years ago... and iirc they were talking about a town in Oregon or Washington that was getting rid of fluoridated water. And he brought up that there was only one not very robust study decades ago that became the basis for the mass decision to add fluoride.

To your point, that one study used a different type of fluoride than the one they started adding to water. It may have been stannous fluoride, which is the form used in some but not all toothpastes. (To assume different forms of fluoride act the same in the body is like assuming carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide kinda act the same, too.)

If true, the practice was started on shaky ground. To the extent subsequent studies said it was good, I'd be curious to track the funding behind them before I put much faith in the results (would be like tobacco companies funding studies to say smoking is healthy/harmless).

Not the study but breakdown of the study

Breakdown is nice, but it doesn't even name the studies. I'd rather read the source. Odd that they wouldn't cite it at all in the article in your link.

Are there any peer reviewed studies out there that reach this conclusion that I could read? I'd like to

Before you read to much into the “breakdown” of a study provided by landmass look into who the “international academy of oral medicine and toxicology” are. They are a group of “biological” dentists that made up an important sounding academy to use as “scientific” backing for any of their claims as reasons why they need to do superfluous dental work.

Any research page that has a link “to share on social media” below it should be questioned when it comes to anything relating to legitimate scientific studies.

Eyes and teeth should be covered by health insurance in the first place, but without fluoride, lots more rotten teeth and health care cost.

In the end, look for the lowest cost and widest cost saving so fluoride in thew water is a no brainer. Take politics out of the discussion and add in common sense.

They should put more stuff in the water. Something to make people faster and smarter.

I think Rogan said it best.

Putting fluoride in tap water is like spraying everyone with sunscreen everyday.

Or something like that.

Will cut insurance costs, slow crime or help our education system.

I see very little real activity on any of these topics.

Think it should be up to the localities. Fluoride occurs naturally is most water sources, many places have enough that supplementation isn't neccessary anyway. Tne fluoridation of public water supplies 70 years ago was a major success in preventing tooth decay, but that was also a time when having access to fluoride supplemented toothpaste and mouth washes was not wide-spread. I just find it funny that a lot of the same people losing their minds over RFK's stance also buy fluoride-free toothpastes, as in most things there is ignorance on both sides.

Fluoride is a disinfectant/sanitizer. It destroys the bacterial biome on the back of your tongue which leads to all manner of cardiovascular problems.
It’s a fascinating process that involves production of nitric oxide. You have probably heard of the importance of nitric oxide production. Fluoride and antibacterial mouth rinses have been wrecking our bodies for decades.

Reverse osmosis filter removes over 99% of contaminants including fluoride. I run filtered water through my fridge and counter water dispenser, so all ice and 90% of water we drink, including water used in coffeemaker, is filtered. Use food-grade LLDPE tubing to help lower chances of micro plastics.

As a 59 year old, I’m not worried about micro plastics because I didn't grow up with the amount of plastic used in packaging and reheating. Future generations will be the one that have to deal with that and the effects of ingesting all that plastic.

Clames this is the best reply on this board.

Folks should know the chemical difference between microplastics and wood, is that microplastics are manmade .

Do you have any studies to support this? Or was this a social media post. The first thing that pops up when I google what you posted is a line from Dr. Nathan Bryan’s CE course website. He has used his proprietary research on Nitric oxide to further his CE speaking tour and his recently developed Bryan therapeutics company. So he uses his own research to justify why you should pay him to come lecture or why you need to buy his proprietary toothpaste. …
